6. Wind Turbine Sound Propagation in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer
Sammanfattning : Wind turbines have grown both in size and number in the past decades. The taller turbines has made it possible to place them in forest areas which is fortunate for a country like Sweden with lots of forest. An issue with wind turbines is the sound they produce. The sound mainly comes from the rotor blades when they pass through the air. LÄS MER
7. Nitrogen-containing products from atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds
Sammanfattning : Atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOC) produces a wide range of oxygenated organic products that lead to formation of secondary organic aerosol (SOA). SOA represents a significant fraction of the tropospheric aerosol that influence climate and human health. LÄS MER
8. Monoterpenes from the boreal coniferous forest : their role in atmospheric chemistry
Sammanfattning : The goal of this work has been to increase our knowledge of the role of the monoteipenes emitted by the boreal coniferous forest in atmospheric chemical processes. To this end, measurements of air concentrations and emission rates have been made in forests of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) at 4 sites throughout Sweden, during the summers of 1989 and 1990. 9. On the lifecycle of aerosol particles : Sources and dispersion over Scandinavia
Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles are likely important contributors to our future climate. Further, during recent years, effects on human health arising from emissions of particulate material have gained increasing attention. LÄS MER
10. Dispersion modelling of volcanic emissions
Sammanfattning : Gases and particles released by volcanoes pose a serious hazard to humans and society. Emissions can be transported over long distances before being reduced to harmless concentrations. Knowing which areas are, or will be, exposed to volcanic emissions is an important part inreducing the impact on human health and society. LÄS MER
