  1. 1. Artificial neural networks : applications in morphometric and landscape features analysis

    Författare :Amir Houshang Ehsani; Fredrich Quiel; Wolter Arnberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis a semi-automatic method is developed to analyze morphometric features and landscape elements based on Self Organizing Map (SOM) as a unsupervised Artificial Neural Network algorithm. Analysis and parameterization of topography into simple and homogenous land elements (landform) can play an important role as basic information in planning processes and environmental modeling. Författare :Aman Mohammad Kalteh; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogeology; geographical and geological engineering; Hydrogeologi; teknisk geologi; teknisk geografi; Self-organizing map; Feed-forward multilayer perceptron; Forecasting; Hydrological modelling; Missing values; Rainfall-runoff modelling; Estimation; Artificial neural networks;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decades or so, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have become one of the most promising tools for modelling hydrological processes such as rainfall-runoff processes. In most studies, ANNs have been demonstrated to show superior result compared to the traditional modelling approaches. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) in particular increasingly impact human life by creating value from collected data. This assetisation affects all aspectsof human life, from choosing a significant other to recommending a product for us to consume. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Implementing artificial neural networks in microsimulation

    Författare :Magnus Åström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction Engineering and Management; Byggproduktion;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis presents a work focused on investigating the possibility of using "artificial methods" such as artificial neural networks (ANN) as an analytical alternative to the conventional technique of regression. The work has been concentrated towards two different modules in the SVERIGE microsimulation model, an earnings module used for predicting individual earnings and a property value module used for predicting real estate prices. Författare :Gaetano Perchiazzi; Göran Hedenstierna; Björn Jonson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology; artificial neural networks; respiratory system compliance; respiratory system resistance; respiratory system time constant; intrinsic positive end expiratory pressure; PEEPi; animal model; acute lung injury; oleic acid; Otis model; Fysiologi; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to test the capability of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to estimate respiratory mechanics during mechanical ventilation (MV). ANNs are universal function approximators and can extract information from complex signals. LÄS MER
