1. Arthroscopic Bankart reconstruction using different absorbable tacks. The clinical results, radiographic findings and effect on calcaneal bone mineral
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT The aim of the thesis was to explore the clinical and radiographic results after post- traumatic anterior shoulder instability treated with arthroscopic Bankart surgery using absorbable tacks with different compositions. Further aims were to explore possible effects on bone mineral in the heel bone and health-related quality of life after a shoulder-stabilising surgical procedure. LÄS MER
2. Patellar and Achilles tendinopathy : sclerosing injections and ultrasound guided arthroscopic shaving
Sammanfattning : Chronic painful tendinopathy is a common cause for elite- and recreational athletes to stop or decrease the level of their sports activity. Recent research on innervation patterns, histopathology and possible pain mechanisms in tendons has led to an increased knowledge about the chronic painful tendon. LÄS MER
3. Anterior shoulder dislocation : Aspects of alternative methods of treatment and MR imaging
Sammanfattning : Sixty patients (16-30 years) with traumatic primary anterior shoulder dislocation were allocated to arthroscopic lavage or non-operative treatment. The arthroscopic lavage group had a lower recurrence rate, better functional outcome and anterior stability after one year. LÄS MER
4. Clinical and arthroscopic assessment of wrist ligament injuries and instability
Sammanfattning : Wrist ligament injuries are common after trauma, especially when concomitant dislocated radius fractures are present. The diagnostics of scapholunate (SL), lunotriquetral (LT) and triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injuries are challenging and most often dependent on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination or invasive arthroscopy. 5. Shoulder Kinematics and Impingement. Dynamic Radiostereometric analysis of the shoulder
Sammanfattning : Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the three-dimensional kinematics of the shoulder joint in patients with shoulder impingement and controls with focus on three well known diagnostic tests; painful arc test (active abduction), Neer sign (passive elevation) and Hawkins sign. The shoulder rhythm, the speed of motion and if successful treatment of impingement could be associated with changes of the shoulder kinematics were studied Dynamic radiostereometry (RSA) is feasible method to study rotations and translations of the gleonohumeral joint because of its high precision.
