1. Phased array calibration and beamforming using signal processing
Sammanfattning : Array antennas have a wide range of applications which includesground and airborne radar, weather radar and anti-collision radar. In addition, equally important applications exist forcommunications, both on earth and to satellites in space, as wellas for medical applications such as the detection and treatment oftumors. 2. Enabling technologies for scalable graphene electronics
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the challenges in scaling up graphene-based technologies, with a focus on the epitaxial growth of graphene (epigraphene) over SiC substrates and the establishment of reliable low-contact resistance electrical contacts. The scalable graphene growth and contact fabrication have enabled the development of three epigraphene-based devices, including large-scale Quantum Hall Arrays, highly sensitive Hall effect magnetometers with minimal noise, and quantum-limited ultraviolet (UV) detectors. 3. Binaural Rendering of Spherical Microphone Array Signals
Sammanfattning : The presentation of extended reality for consumer and professional applications requires major advancements in the capture and reproduction of its auditory component to provide a plausible listening experience. A spatial representation of the acoustic environment needs to be considered to allow for movement within or an interaction with the augmented or virtual reality. LÄS MER
4. Joint Pose and Radio Channel Estimation
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the combination of pose and radio channel estimation. Pose is the knowledge of the position and orientation of a device whereas the radio channel describes the transmission medium between radio transmitters and receivers. LÄS MER
5. Statistical Analysis of Hardware Impairments in Communication Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis delves into the study of hardware impairments, the inevitable limiting factors in radio frequency (RF) communication systems, and their substantial influence on system performance. It addresses the incongruity between the often stringent requirements imposed by standards and the innate imperfections of analog circuits present in real-world RF electronics. LÄS MER
