  1. 1. Hydropower Area Equivalents : Reduced Models for Efficient Simulation of Large-Scale Hydropower Systems

    Författare :Evelin Blom; Lennart Söder; Arild Helseth; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Area Equivalent; Aggregation; Bilevel optimization; Large-scale hydropower; Power system simulation; Reduced model; Area-Ekvivalent; Aggregering; Två-nivå-optimering; Storskalig vattenkraft; Kraftsystemssimulering; Reducerad modell;

    Sammanfattning : With over 4000 TWh yearly electricity production worldwide, hydropower plays an important role in many power systems. Unlike many other renewable energy sources, hydropower has a certain degree of controllability and high levels of flexibility over several time scales. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) is a light source of great importance for numerous industrial and consumer products. The main application areas are datacom and sensing. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Climatology and firn processes in the lower accumulation area of the Greenland ice sheet

    Författare :Charalampos Charalampidis; Veijo Pohjola; Dirk van As; Rickard Pettersson; Douglas Benn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; climate change; Greenland ice sheet; accumulation area; automatic weather stations; surface energy balance; melt–albedo feedback; surface mass budget; snow; firn; meltwater; percolation; refreezing; runoff;

    Sammanfattning : The Greenland ice sheet is the largest Northern Hemisphere store of fresh water, and it is responding rapidly to the warming climate. In situ observations document the changing ice sheet properties in the lower accumulation area, Southwest Greenland. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Immunomodulatory Therapy of Solid Tumors : With a Focus on Monoclonal Antibodies

    Författare :Linda Sandin; Thomas Tötterman; Mangsbo Sara; Fredrik Eriksson; Loskog Angelica; Ola Winqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; in situ checkpoint blockade; antibody-mediated tumor immunotherapy; CTLA-4; CD40; monoclonal antibodies; experimental animal model; Fc gamma receptor; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer, historically considered a genetic disease, is currently acknowledged to affect the whole body. Our immune system is one key player that can elicit a response against malignant cells but can also promote tumorigenesis. Tumors avoid immune recognition by creating a suppressive microenvironment and inducing tolerance. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Concepts for Power System Small Signal Stability Analysis and Feedback Control Design Considering Synchrophasor Measurements

    Författare :Yuwa Chompoobutrgool; Luigi Vanfretti; Mats Larsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wide-area damping control; inter-area oscillations; power system stabilizers; PMU; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem;

    Sammanfattning : In the Nordic power network, the existence of poorly damped low-frequency inter-area oscillations (LFIOs) has long affected stability constraints, and thereby, limited power transfer capacity. Adequate damping of inter-area modes is, thus, necessary to secure system operation and ensure system reliability while increasing power transfers. LÄS MER
