  1. 1. Stress responses of Arabidopsis plants with a varying level of non-photochemical quenching

    Författare :Hanna Johansson Jänkänpää; Stefan Jansson; Barbara Demmig-Adams; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arabidopsis; NPQ; PsbS; photosynthesis; field experiment; metabolomics; Physiological Botany; fysiologisk botanik; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : When light energy input exceeds the capacity for photosynthesis the plant need to dissipate the excess energy and this is done through non-photo-chemical quenching (NPQ). Photochemical quenching (photosynthesis), NPQ and fluorescence are three alternative faiths of excited chlorophylls. PsbS associates to photosystem II and is involved in NPQ. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Light-regulated Development in Arabidopsis

    Författare :Dongqing Xu; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arabidopsis; photomorphogenesis;

    Sammanfattning : Many external and internal factors affect multiple developmental processes in plants. Light is one of the essential factors that regulates various aspects of plant growth and development throughout their life cycle. LÄS MER

  3. 3. New regulators of xylem lignification in arabidopsis

    Författare :Bernadette Sztojka; Hannele Tuominen; Simon Hawkins; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Xylem; lignin; Arabidopsis; secondary cell wall; transcriptional regulation; lignin-biosynthetic gene; S G lignin ratio;

    Sammanfattning : The ability of land plants to grow upright, bear their own weight and withstand adverse environmental conditions is largely dependent on the secondary xylem tissues of the stem. The xylem cells acquire thick secondary cell walls which are composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Characterisation of the Clp Proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana

    Författare :Bo Zheng; Adrian K. Clarke; Vaughan Hurry; Cecilia Sundby-Emanuelsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant physiology; Arabidopsis; molecular chaperone; protein degradation; protease; Clp Hsp100; ClpP; stress response; antisense repression; chloroplast development; Växtfysiologi; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Unlike in the greenhouse, plants need to cope with many environmental stresses under natural conditions. Among these conditions are drought, waterlogging, excessive or too little light, high or low temperatures, UV irradiation, high soil salinity, and nutrient deficiency. LÄS MER

  5. 5. B-box Proteins in Light-regulated Development in Arabidopsis

    Författare :Sourav Datta; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :light signaling; Arabidopsis;

    Sammanfattning : COP1 and HY5 are two key regulators of light signaling in plants. Proteins interacting with either could therefore be important regulators of light-dependent development. Previous yeast two-hybrid screens, using COP1 or HY5 as bait, identified several putative regulators of light signaling. LÄS MER
