16. Calculation and Measurement of the Neutron Emission Spectrum due to Thermonuclear and Higher-Order Reactions in Tokamak Plasmas
Sammanfattning : A series of analytic and numerical models have been developed for the prediction and interpretation of the energy spectrum of the neutron emission from thermonuclear deuteriumtritium (DT) plasmas. The main component of the neutron emission, due to reactions between thermal fuel ions, has been modeled as well as minority components due to the presence of fast (supra-thermal) ions. LÄS MER

The dynamics of the fission process have been studied by means of detection of neutrons emitted from compound nuclei formed by ion beams of protons, α-particles, and 12C-ions, all at a beam energy of 100 MeV. 19. Neutron Spectroscopy Studies of Heating Effects in Fusion Plasmas
Sammanfattning : High power fusion plasmas produced in the world’s largest facility for magnetic confinement experiments (JET), have been studied using the neutron emission measured with the magnetic proton recoil (MPR) spectrometer. The MPR has been used to observe plasmas since 1996 including those of deuterium-tritium leading to several fusion records and corresponding observational achievements of neutron emission spectroscopy. 20. Elastic Neutron Scattering at 96 MeV
Sammanfattning : A facility for studies of elastic neutron scattering in the 50–130 MeV range has been developed. In addition to elastic neutron scattering, it has been used for (n,p) and (n,d) reaction experiments. The performance of the device has been illustrated in measurements of the (n,p) and (n,n) cross sections on 1H and 12C. LÄS MER
