1. Formation and Evolution of Protoplanetary Discs
Sammanfattning : Protoplanetary discs and the protostars they surround are formed from the gravitational collapse of molecularcloud cores. These discs consist primarily of gas, with a small but important dust component. The roughlymm-sized grains that make up the dust component are the building blocks of planets. LÄS MER
2. Error, praise, action and trait : effects of feedback on cognitive performance and motivation
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the role of trial-based feedback on cognitive performance and motivation. We conducted behavioural tests in the laboratory, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate brain activation, and experimentally controlled tests in a non-lab environment; the classroom. 3. Neuropeptides in temporomandibular joint arthritis
Sammanfattning : Involvement of the peripheral and central nervous systems in the pathophysiology of arthritis has been suggested and neuropeptides are thought to participate in the mediation and modulation of the inflammatory process. The main objective of the clinical studies was to investigate the relationship between the presence of neuropeptides in the synovial fluid of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the stomatognathic symptoms and signs, including the intra-articular temperature (IAT), in patients with TMJ arthritis. They are bound by a code of ethics that mandates that nurses respect all human rights regardless of the patient’s abilities or functional status. LÄS MER
5. Experiments with and modelling of explosively driven mangetic flux compression generators
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents work performed on explosively driven magnetic flux compression generators. This kind of devices converts the chemically stored energy in a high explosive into electromagnetic energy in the form of a powerful current pulse. LÄS MER
