  1. 21. Cyberbullying in Childhood and Adolescence - Assessment, Coping, and the Role of Appearance

    Författare :Sofia Berne; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; cyberbullying; body esteem; appearance-related cyberbullying; coping strategies; gender differences; instrument review;

    Sammanfattning : Cyberbullying is a relatively new form of bullying that is conducted through modern information and communication technology. This thesis examines different aspects of cyberbullying, and is comprised of three parts. LÄS MER

  2. 22. 2D and 3D Halftoning for Appearance Reproduction

    Författare :Fereshteh Abedini; Sasan Gooran; Daniel Nyström; Jan Morovic; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The appearance of an object is determined by its chromatic and geometric qualities in its surrounding environment using four optical parameters: color, gloss, translucency, and surface texture. Reconstructing the appearance of objects is of great importance in many applications, including creative industries, packaging, fine-art reproduction, medical simulation, and prosthesis-making. 3. 23. Visualising the Effect of Geometrical Variation in Assembled Products. Predicting Visual Quality Appearance

    Författare :Casper Wickman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tolerancing; visual quality appearance; distance perception; empirical studies; method development; visual sensitivity; and geometric variation; virtual reality;

    Sammanfattning : Today, when an industrial design concept is evaluated in an aesthetic manner, little or no consideration is given to geometrical variation, i.e. the concept is evaluated with nominal geometry. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate : Quality of Life and Nasal Form and Function among Adults

    Författare :Maria Mani; Mats Holmström; Valdemar Skoog; Anna Andlin-Sobocki; Magnus Becker; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; unilateral cleft lip and palate; quality of life; SF-36; nasal function; nasal breathing; nasolabial appearance; cleft width; long-term results; Plastic surgery; Plastikkirurgi; Plastikkirurgi; Plastic Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) is a craniofacial malformation with functional and aesthetical impact on the face and the upper airways. The aims of the current thesis were to evaluate Quality of life (QoL) in adults treated for UCLP  (I), to objectively evaluate nasal form and function and to search for possible differences in residual nasal deformity and impairment of function between patients operated according to one-stage and two-stage palate closure (II) as well as to evaluate the relationship between professional and lay rating and patient satisfaction with nasolabial appearance (III) and to identify factors associated with lower levels of QoL and less satisfaction with nasal appearance among adults treated for UCLP (IV). 5. 25. Affective Surface Engineering for Product Design

    Författare :Martin Bergman; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; semantics; Design research; total appearance; soft metrology; surface roughness; technical functions; core values; product interaction; kansei engineering; emotional functions; hard metrology; sensation and perception;

    Sammanfattning : Design research, sensation and perception, hard metrology, emotional functions, semantics, surface roughness, product interaction, core values, total appearance… the list of scientific phrases never ends. Yet, what do they mean and how shall we use it when we are communicating with the industry and our end users? Is it possible to link the product experience to process parameters, put a number onto it? When you can measure spoken needs or even better, implied needs, of a product, and relate that data to the production, it is possible do create advanced products with high interaction stimuli. LÄS MER
