Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) has been the mainstay imaging modality in the diagnostic workup, but TEE has diagnostic shortcomings. Thus, new imaging methods might improve the diagnostic workup of PVE. LÄS MER

3. Prosthetic aortic heart valves
Sammanfattning : Background: Aortic valve replacement (AVR) can be performed with different types of valve prostheses. This thesis evaluates mortality, morbidity, and prosthetic valve function after AVR with different aortic valve prostheses. LÄS MER
4. Responsible antibiotic use and diagnostic challenges in infectious diseases : studies in a resource-limited setting and a high-income setting

5. Follow-up of adults with congenitally malformed hearts with focus on individualised and computer-based education and psychosocial support : A descriptive and interventional study

This advocates self-management behaviours related to medical treatments, physical activity, preventions of endocarditis, some restrictions regarding suitable employment and spare time activities, birth control and pregnancy, but also lifestyle concerns such as refraining from smoking and healthy eating.
