    Författare :Amelie Kinch; Karlis Pauksens; Gunilla Enblad; Eva Baecklund; Harald Holte; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PTLD; Lymphoma; Epstein-Barr Virus; EBV DNAemia; FoxP3; Treg; Microenvironment; Cell of Origin; Recipient; Transplantation; Immunosuppression; Hepatitis C; Survival; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects almost all humans and establishes lifelong latency in B cells. Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare but serious complication after transplantation triggered by immunosuppression and often related to EBV infection. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Uterus transplantation: An experimental study in primates

    Författare :Liza Johannesson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; infertility; transplantation; nonhuman primates; uterus; human; immunosuppression;

    Sammanfattning : Most causes of infertility are nowadays treatable, but for women that are infertile due to lack of, or severe malfunction of the uterus, there is as of today no available cure. Uterus transplantation (UTx) may provide a future possibility for treatment of these females with uterine factor infertility (UFI). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hematolymphoproliferative malignancies : the impact of lifestyle, organ transplantation and genetic susceptibility

    Författare :Pia Fernberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During the past decades Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has demonstrated an immense increase in incidence globally, among almost all age and race groups as well as in both genders. In the search for causes, none of the known risk factors can alone or together entirely explain this trend. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Experimental studies of human fetal liver cells : in regard to in utero hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

    Författare :Bim Lindton; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :In utero transplantation; fetal liver cells; mixed lymphocyte culture; CD3; CD56; HLA class II; parvovirus B 19 capsids; corticosteroids; cytotoxic drugs; colony formation.;

    Sammanfattning : Successful in utero hematopoietic stem cell transplantation represents a potential step forward in the management of patients with severe inherited hematological, metabolic and immunological disorders. Animal data from a number of species have demonstrated evidence of engraftment, but to date the only effective in utero transplantations (IUTx) in humans have been performed in fetuses with severe immunodeficiencies, suggesting that the fetal immune system play a vital role in the success or failure of in utero transplantation.
