Sammanfattning : The study examines the character and development of anti-Jewish thinking as manifested in public discourse in Sweden in the post-war era. Using newspapers, periodicals and other publications as source material, the study seeks to uncover the continuity, discontinuity and renewal of anti-Jewish discourse by analysing the reactions to the assassination of the Swedish UN envoy Folke Bernadotte in Israel in 1948, the impact of the Holocaust on attitudes towards antisemitism, Jews and Israel during the 1950s and 1960s, the emergence of anti-Zionism and radical criticism of Israel from the late 1960s onwards, the attitudes towards Holocaust-denial propaganda in the beginning of the 1980s and the public debate on the Lebanon War in 1982. Sammanfattning : Syftet med denna avhandling är att undersöka vilken ekonomisk och social ställning den judiska minoriteten intog i det svenska samhället under perioden 1870 till 1940. Sammanfattning : The Holocaust is an event that lives on in societies’ consciousness in the form of memorial monuments and museums, and is processed by research institutions and authorities. My own journey began when meeting upper secondary students who denied the Holocaust, and I soon came in contact with a group who identify themselves as Third Generation Survivors; grandchildren of those who survived the Holocaust. Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the development of Holocaust remembrance in France, taking the activities of the Centre de documentation juive contemporaine in Paris as its focus. By looking at the construction, function, and reception of Holocaust narratives in the twenty years following the end of the War, it shows how remembrance took shape within French historical culture, and, conversely, how representations of the genocide influenced France’s national-historical culture.
