  1. 1. Stereotyped B Cell Receptors in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia : Implications for Antigen Selection in Leukemogenesis

    Författare :Fiona Murray; Richard Rosenquist Brandell; Kostas Stamatopoulos; Gunilla Enblad; Gerard Tobin; Manlio Ferrarini; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic lymphocytic leukaemia; immunoglobulin genes; somatic hypermutation; stereotyped B cell receptors; antigen selection; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Biased immunoglobulin heavy variable (IGHV) gene usage and distinctive B-cell receptor (BCR) features have been reported in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which may reflect clonal selection by antigens during disease development. Furthermore, the IGHV gene mutation status distinguishes two clinical entities of CLL, where patients with unmutated IGHV genes have an inferior prognosis compared to those with mutated IGHV genes. 2. 2. Insights into weak affinity antibody-antigen interactionsStudies using affinity chromatography and optical biosensor

    Författare :Magnus Strandh; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; immunosensor; biosensor; weak affinity chromatography; cross-reactivity; antibody-antigen interaction; weak affinity; biomolecular recognition; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular recognition and interaction is fundamental for the function of biological systems. The properties of the interacting biomolecules dictate the type of forces involved and the strength and dynamics of the interaction. Many interactions are very strong whereas others exhibit weak affinity. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Restricted antigen recognition in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Författare :Anna Lanemo Myhrinder; Anders Rosén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; auto antigens; CLL cell lines; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells are considered to be derived from antigen-exposed B cells. To further explore the antigen-driven selection behind the leukemogenesis of CLL, we performed immunoglobulin (Ig) specificity screening of 7 CLL cell lines and 23 primary CLL clones from patient peripheral blood. 4. 4. Characterization of Antigenic Properties and High Throughput Protein Purification

    Författare :Johanna Steen; Sophia Hober; Mats Ohlin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high throughput; protein purification; sample preparation; antigen solubility; immunogenicity; epitope mapping; antigen design; Bioengineering; Bioteknik; SRA - Molecular Bioscience; SRA - Molekylär biovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : To understand the cellular processes, knowledge of the localization and function of proteins are essential. There are several high throughput ventures examining the human proteome. However, there are some bottlenecks in these ventures. For example the production and expression of soluble proteins for analysis. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vaccine development strategies applied to the Plasmodium falciparum malaria antigen 332

    Författare :Nina-Maria Vasconcelos; Klavs Berzins; Matti Sällberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; malaria; sub-unit vaccines; immunogenicity; antibody response; antigen Pf332; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Malaria is one of the major infectious diseases in the world with regard to mortality and morbidity, and the development of a vaccine against the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum is considered of high priority. The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to develop and characterize recombinant vaccine constructs based on the P. LÄS MER
