  1. 1. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder : alterations of motor behaviour and dopaminergic transmission

    Författare :Aurelija Jucaite; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :AD HD; DCD; neurodevelopmental disorder; PET; dopamine transporter; dopamine D2 receptors; raclopride; striatum; midbrain; anticipatory postural adjustments;

    Sammanfattning : Altered catecholaminergic neurotransmission in the brain has long been thought to be of importance in the regulation of motor behavior and cognitive performance in children who had symptoms of distractability, impulsivity and clumsiness. The dopamine theory of AD/HD has mainly been substantiated by: i) the effects of psychostimulants, which target the dopamine transporter (DAT), and thereby reduce impulsiveness and inattentiveness, increase the striatal cerebral blood flow and functional activity, and ii) the evidence from linkage studies associating the AD/HD syndrome with allelic variations of genes encoding the dopamine transporter and, possibly, the dopamine D4 receptors. 2. 2. Dynamic ankle-foot orthoses in children with spastic diplegia : interview and experimental studies

    Författare :Annika Näslund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamic ankle-foot orthosis (DAFO) is a thin supra malleolar orthosis used as a compliment to the total treatment program in children with cerebral palsy (CP) in order to facilitate function in sitting, standing and walking. The DAFO keeps the foot in a functional position and is said to provide the child with proprioceptive feedback for balance- and postural control. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Walking in adults with spastic cerebral palsy : the relation to pain, fatigue, gait and balance

    Författare :Arve Opheim; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cerebral palsy;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a disorder of movement and posture, and reduced gross motor function has been reported in several studies. Walking is an important function in everyday life, and important for independence. Studies on walking deterioration in adults with spastic CP are lacking. LÄS MER
