  1. 1. Anticipation and Attention in Robot Control

    Författare :Birger Johansson; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; eye-movements; visual field; tracking; occlusion; cognitive modelling; boebot; e-puck; color tracking; multi-agent; epistemic action; architecture; agent; robot; anticipation; attention; prediction;

    Sammanfattning : Anticipatory and predictive models are becoming very important features of robot systems. This thesis investigates some aspects of predictive modeling. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Understanding attention selection in driving: From limited capacity to adaptive behaviour

    Författare :Johan A Skifs Engström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; driver distraction; expectancy; working memory load; adaptive driver behaviour; accident analysis; driving performance; Attention;

    Sammanfattning : Accident analysis studies have consistently identified attention-related failures as key factors behind road crashes. However, less is known about how such failures lead to accidents. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cognitive functions in drivers with brain injury : Anticipation and adaption

    Författare :Anna Lundqvist; Jerker Rönnberg; Jarl Risberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Brain injury; cognitive impairment; anticipatory attention; driving; Disability research; Handikappsforskning;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to improve the understanding of what cognitive functions are important for driving performance, investigate the impact of impaired cognitive functions on drivers with brain injury, and study adaptation strategies relevant for driving performance after brain injury. Finally, the predictive value of a neuropsychological test battery was evaluated for driving performance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder : alterations of motor behaviour and dopaminergic transmission

    Författare :Aurelija Jucaite; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :AD HD; DCD; neurodevelopmental disorder; PET; dopamine transporter; dopamine D2 receptors; raclopride; striatum; midbrain; anticipatory postural adjustments;

    Sammanfattning : Altered catecholaminergic neurotransmission in the brain has long been thought to be of importance in the regulation of motor behavior and cognitive performance in children who had symptoms of distractability, impulsivity and clumsiness. The dopamine theory of AD/HD has mainly been substantiated by: i) the effects of psychostimulants, which target the dopamine transporter (DAT), and thereby reduce impulsiveness and inattentiveness, increase the striatal cerebral blood flow and functional activity, and ii) the evidence from linkage studies associating the AD/HD syndrome with allelic variations of genes encoding the dopamine transporter and, possibly, the dopamine D4 receptors. 5. 5. New light on neurocognitive processes linked to autism and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in childhood : studies of eye movements in twins

    Författare :Monica Siqueiros Sanchez; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Visual attention and oculomotor response inhibition have been associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) respectively. The aim of this thesis was to increase our knowledge about these cognitive functions relevant to ASD and ADHD in early infancy and childhood using eye tracking and twin modelling. LÄS MER
