1. Antibody Evolution and Repertoire Development
Sammanfattning : Antibodies are key players of the immune system in higher vertebrates, which provide a defense against potentially lethal threats from the environment. Besides their importance in the immune defense, antibodies have a great potential as reagents in biological chemistry and diagnostics, and as therapeutic agents against both infectious diseases and cancer. 2. Modeling Antibody Aggregation in Downstream Processing
Sammanfattning : Antibodies are part of the immune system where their purpose is to recognize and neutralize foreign species such as viruses and bacteria, thus preventing and curing infections. The trend of using antibodies in the treatment of, for example, cancer is increasing. LÄS MER
3. Development of novel affinity enrichment strategies for clinical applications using selected reaction monitoring
Sammanfattning : Proteins are key components of any living organism and an essential part of life itself. They can provide cells with structure and perform life-sustaining intracellular reactions. As organisms grow more complex, this task expands even further. LÄS MER
4. Immune reconstitution after childhood leukemia. Aspects on immunizations and effects of Ara-C on the innate immune system
Sammanfattning : Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) can be cured with cytotoxic chemotherapy, but myelosuppression and immunosuppression are major side effects causing morbidity and even mortality from infections. Vaccinations with diphtheria toxoid (DT), tetanus toxoid (TT) and protein conjugated Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) capsular polysaccharide were used to investigate the adaptive immune system in a controlled study of 31 children after treatment for ALL. 5. Mass Spectrometry and Affinity Based Methods for Analysis of Proteins and Proteomes
Sammanfattning : Proteomics is a fast growing field and there has been a tremendous increase of knowledge the last two decades. Mass spectrometry is the most used method for analysis of complex protein samples. It can be used both in large scale discovery studies as well as in targeted quantitative studies. LÄS MER
