  1. 1. Development and characterization of functional composite materials for advanced energy conversion technologies

    Författare :Liangdong Fan; Bin Zhu; Torsten Fransson; Mahmut D. MAT; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low temperature ceramic fuel cell; Ceria-carbonate composite; Electrolysis; Transition metal oxide; Symmetrical fuel cells; All-nanocomposite fuel cell; Electrolyte-free fuel cell; Solar cell; ion conductor and semiconductor; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : The solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is a potential high efficient electrochemical device for vehicles, auxiliary power units and large-scale stationary power plants combined heat and power application. The main challenges of this technology for market acceptance are associated with cost and lifetime due to the high temperature (700-1000 oC) operation and complex cell structure, i. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Antimony recovery from complex copper concentrates through hydro- and electrometallurgical processes

    Författare :Samuel Ayowole Awe; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Today, one of the major difficulties confronted during copper metallurgy is the elimination of antimony and arsenic impurities from the process. This is because the pure copper ore reserves are becoming exhausted and the resources of unexploited ores often contain relatively high amounts of antimony and arsenic. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation

    Författare :Michael A. Grishin; Ulf O. Karlsson; Massimo Sancrotti; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrophysics; Photoemission; Ultra-short laser pulse; Thin film; Laser deposition; InSb; InAs; GaSb; Ferroelectrics; Elektrofysik; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface. Sammanfattning : Energy storage is a key technology sector that can be improved to lower carbon emissions, replace fossil fuel energy supplies and thus contribute to creating a more sustainable future. Current methods of large-scale energy storage device production have raised concern regarding their cost, carbon footprint and sustainability. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Durability of Reinforced Concrete under Impressed Current Cathodic Protection

    Författare :Emma Zhang; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; durability; cathodic protection and prevention; anode system; service life; critical chloride content; Chloride initiated corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) and prevention (ICCPre) are reliable and efficient techniques to stop, control and postpone corrosion in reinforced concrete structures. However, the wide application of this technique has been limited by the high cost of the anode system. LÄS MER
