7. Symmetry of Halonium Complexes in Solution
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the symmetry of two interaction types involving electropositive halogens have been studied in solution; the N-X+-N halogen bond (X = Br or I), and the C-X+-C interaction of previously characterised, cyclic, 1,2-bridged halonium ions (X = Cl or Br), respectively. The three N-X+-N model structures included are bispyridine, 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-ylethynyl)benzene and 1,2-bis((4-methylpyridin-2-yl)ethynyl)benzene halonium triflate complexes. LÄS MER
8. Synthesis of Novel Homoserine Analogues - Towards t he Development of Substrate-based Peptide Inhibitors of cAMP-dependent Protein Kinase
Sammanfattning : Protein kinases are enzymes that via phosphorylation of proteins/peptides regulate most aspects of cell functions and physiology. The enzymes transfer a -phosphoryl group from ATP to hydroxyl groups of Ser, Thr and Tyr residues in their substrates. LÄS MER
9. Addressing Female Whiplash Injury Protection - A Step Towards 50th Percentile Female Rear Impact Occupant Models
Sammanfattning : Whiplash Associated Disorder (WAD) – commonly denoted whiplash injury – to vehicle occupants involved in collisions, is of worldwide concern. These injuries occur at relatively low velocity changes, typically between 10–25 km/h, and in all impact directions. Rear impacts are, however, the most common in the accident statistics. LÄS MER
10. Initial Studies of Dynamic Responses of Female and Male Volunteers in Rear Impact Tests
Sammanfattning : Whiplash Associated Disorder (WAD) - commonly denoted whiplash injury - resulting from vehicle impacts, is a worldwide epidemic. These injuries occur at relatively low changes of velocity (typically between 10-25 km/h) and in impacts from all directions. Rear impacts are however the most common in the accident statistics.
