  1. 16. Unleashing Animal-Computer Interaction : A Theoretical Investigation of the “I” in ACI

    Författare :Fredrik Aspling; Oskar Juhlin; Clara Mancini; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Animal-Computer Interaction; Multispecies Ethnography; Theory; Theoretical Pluralism; Actor-Network Theory; Ethnomethodology; Rhetorics; Kinesthetic Empathy; Man-Machine-Interaction MMI ; människa-maskin-interaktion MMI ;

    Sammanfattning : Non-human animals have had a long co-existence and relationship with human culture and society, and we interact with them in a number of ways, and for various reasons. Their involvement in technology can be traced back more than half a century, initially restricted to scientific contexts, for example, for the study of animal behavior, cognition, or language learning abilities. 2. 17. Animal transport and welfare with special emphasis on transport time and vibration

    Författare :Samuel Aradom Messmer; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Farm animals are transported several times during their lifetime and often long distances, and most of them are to slaughter. During transport they are exposed to a number of stress inducing factors. The main objective of the thesis work was to study the welfare of pigs, cows and bulls during transport from farm to abattoir. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Tropical paradise: Is it for cows? Animal welfare of cattle raised under tropical conditions

    Författare :Adalinda Hernández; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

Assessment protocols and changes to old harmful practices have become essential for the survival of small enterprises, which are the sole livelihood for many people living in poverty. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Assessment of eosinophil degranulation in allergic diseases and experimental models

    Författare :Monika Malm-Erjefält; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; blood; histochemistry; cytochemistry; tissue culture; Histologi; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur; animal morphology; Animal anatomy; Djurs anatomi och morfologi; Haematology; cytoplasmic granules ; Hematologi; Respiratory system; extracellulära vätskor; Andningsorganen; toxikologi; farmaci; farmakognosi; Farmakologi; toxicology; pharmacy; pharmacognosy; Klinisk biologi; Pharmacological sciences; Histology; cell separation ; mice; animal models ; biological marker ; transmission electron microscopy allergy; cell degranulation ; Clinical biology; extracellular fluids; eosinophils;

    Sammanfattning : In allergic disorders, the eosinophilic granulocytes migrate to affected tissues and release granule proteins with cytotoxic, immunoregulatory, and remodeling-promoting properties. Given that degranulation is reflected by a loss in eosinophil granule density of living cells, or by cell membrane rupture and release of intact granules, these morphological changes may represent a biomarker of the allergic disease. 5. 20. Cattle grazing on semi-natural pastures : animal behaviour and nutrition, vegetation characteristics and environmental aspects

    Författare :Maja Elisabeth Pelve; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The knowledge of the grazing behaviour of cattle on Swedish semi-natural pastures and how this relates to the nutritional quality and quantity of the vegetation is low. In a situation where farming is being intensified both nationally and globally, it is important to gain more information about semi-natural pastures and how to utilise this resource properly. LÄS MER
