  1. 1. Knee function, knee proprioception and related brain activity following anterior cruciate ligament injury

    Författare :Andrew Strong; Charlotte Häger; Eva Tengman; Divya Srinivasan; Eleni Kapreli; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anterior cruciate ligament; knee; proprioception; joint position sense; kinematics; injury prevention; sports; functional magnetic resonance imaging; brain; reliability; validity; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy; Sports Medicine; idrottsmedicin; rehabiliteringsmedicin; Rehabilitation Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Injury of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) may have negative effects on the short- and long-term function and proprioception of the knee joint. However, existing tests of knee function are often sports-related and less relevant for assessment in the very long term and there remains no ‘gold standard’ test of knee proprioception. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Understanding regional renewal and industry cluster emergence processes within the Swedish periphery

    Författare :Andrew Arbuthnott; Joakim Wincent; Jessica Eriksson; Peter Zettinig; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; industry emergence processes; regional renewal; industry clusters; periherial regions; Business studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : There are many insightful writings revealing that regions within industrialised nations are able to renew their local business environments through building and supporting industry clusters. Such knowledge stems from research based on how to maintain and develop successful industry clusters located within central regions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Becoming Jinja : The Production of Space and Making of Place in an African Industrial Town

    Författare :Andrew Byerley; Gunilla Andrae; Jo Beall; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The years immediately preceding and following W.W.II marked a turning point in British colonial policy in Africa. In this doctoral thesis, which focuses on colonial and post-colonial Uganda, this turning point is approached in terms of a shift in would-be hegemonic socio-spatial diagrams of power. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts

    Författare :Andrew J. Bagnall; Leif Hammarström; Vincent Artero; Sascha Ott; Alexander Cowan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrochemical mechanism; hydrogen; artificial photosynthesis; molecular catalyst; hydrogen evolution; cobalt; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials. 5. 5. Chemical Methods for Improving the Fracture Toughness of Paper

    Författare :Andrew T. Horvath; Lars Wågberg; Theo van de Ven; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; chemistry; physical chemistry; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Paper is a network material composed of a great number of fibers that interact with each other through fiber joints. In order to make a clear statement regarding observed changes being made in paper, it is vital to determine the structural level of paper that is being affected by chemical modifications. LÄS MER
