  1. 1. Barns teckningar som utgångspunkt i det naturvetenskapliga samtalet

    Författare :Johanna Andersson; Lena Tibell; Jesper Haglund; Christina Ottander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; children; drawings; conceptions; heat; mixning; human body; living min-living; barn; teckningar; föreställningar; värme; blandning; människokroppen; levande inte levande;

    Sammanfattning : Barns föreställningar utgör en viktig del i deras begreppsbildning inom naturvetenskap vilket betonas inom konstruktivismen. I denna avhandling utgör en socialkonstruktivistisk syn på lärande det teoretiska ramverket. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Four applications of stochastic processes : Contagious disease, credit risk, gambling and bond portfolios

    Författare :Patrik Andersson; Andreas Nordvall Lagerås; Håkan Andersson; Stewart N. Ethier; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Stochastic processes; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics; matematisk statistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers on applications of stochastic processes. In Paper I we study an open population SIS (Susceptible - Infective - Susceptible) stochastic epidemic model from the time of introduction of the disease, through a possible outbreak and to extinction. The analysis uses coupling arguments and diffusion approximations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multi-omics investigation into bacterial evolution

  4. 4. From Penicillin Binding Proteins to Community Interventions : Mathematical and Statistical Models Related to Antibiotic Resistance

    Författare :Patricia Geli Rolfhamre; Åke Svensson; Mikael Andersson; Dan I. Andersson; Karl Ekdahl; Bruce R. Levin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; antibiotic resistance; mathematical modeling; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamics; penicillin binding protein; postantibiotic effect; reversibility; selection; community intervention; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Antibiotic resistance has become a major public health concern and mathematical models are important analytical tools for the understanding, evaluation and prediction of the resistance problem and related control strategies.The risk of emerging antibiotic resistance and selection has rarely been a concern in the design of antibiotic drug dosing regimens. 5. 5. Segmented HPGe detectors for post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel : Design and demonstration in gamma emission tomography

    Författare :Vikram Rathore; Peter Andersson; Erik Andersson Sundén; Ane Håkansson; Andrew Boston; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Segmented HPGe detector; Nuclear fuel; Post-irradiation examination; Nuclear fuel diagnostics; Gamma emission tomography; Gamma spectroscopy; Non-destructive fuel testing; Applied Nuclear Physics; Tillämpad kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Gamma emission tomography (GET) is a proven non-invasive technique for post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel. In the past, collimated HPGe detectors were used for GET measurements due to their good energy resolution. LÄS MER
