    Författare :Magnus Jobs; Anders Rydberg; Andrei Sazonov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless Sensor Networks; Body Area Networks; Jet Turbine; Electrically Small Antennas; Antenna Theory; WISENET; Wisejet; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The main focus of the work presented in this thesis concerns the development and improvement of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) as well as Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs). WSN consist of interlinked, wireless devices (nodes) capable of relaying data wirelessly between the nodes. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Ultra-wideband Antenna and Radio Front-end Systems

    Författare :Magnus Karlsson; Anders Rydberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communication; ultra-wideband; radio communication; UWB bandwidth; antenna parallelism; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The number of wireless communication applications increase steadily, leading to the competition for currently allocated frequency bands. Pressure on authorities around the world to permit communications in higher and wider frequency ranges to achieve higher wireless capacity than those existed in the past has resulted in several new specifications. Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the potential of multifunctional silicon-based microsystems for advanced integrated nanospacecraft (AIN). Especially, multifunctional microsystems with the coexistant functions of communications and thermal management implemented in multilayer silicon stacks are approached with systems study. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Active and Passive Unequally Spaced Reflect-Arrays and Elements of RF Integration Techniques

    Författare :Dhanesh G. Kurup; Anders Rydberg; Mohamed Himdi; Peter S Hall; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Active Antenna; Reflect-arrays; NRD guide; RF integration; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Sammanfattning : Using an array synthesis tool based on a modified differential evolution algorithm, it is shown that the position-phase synthesis exhibits improved pattern characteristics compared to both the phase only and position only synthesis of uniform amplitude antenna arrays. The design of an unequally spaced planar reflect-array and an active power combining reflect-array are presented. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Reconfigurable and Wideband Receiver Components for System-on-Chip Millimetre-Wave Radiometer Front-Ends

    Författare :Shakila Bint Reyaz; Robert Malmqvist; Anders Rydberg; Luca Roselli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Reconfigurable; Wideband; Receivers; Millimetre-Wave; Radiometers; System-on-Chip; Passive Imaging.; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents solutions and studies related to the design of reconfigurable and wideband receiver circuits for system-on-chip (SoC) radiometer front-ends within the millimetre-wave (mm-wave) range. Whereas many of today’s mm-wave front-ends are bulky and costly due to having discrete RF components, single-chip receiver modules could potentially result in a wider use for emerging applications such as wireless communication, short range radar and passive imaging security sensors if realised with adequate performances and at a lower cost.
