  1. 1. Novel Circulating and Tissue Biomarkers for Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors and Lung Carcinoids

    Författare :Tao Cui; Valeria Giandomenico; Kjell Öberg; Apostolos V. Tsolakis; Marco Volante; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; small intestine neuroendocrine tumors; lung carcinoids; Ma2 autoantibodies; immunohistochemistry; olfactory receptor 51E1; blood samples; antibody suspension bead array; 小肠神经内分泌肿瘤,肺类癌,Ma2自身抗体,免疫组化,嗅觉受体蛋白51E1, 血液样本,抗体悬浮磁珠阵列; Endokrinologi och Diabetologi; Endocrinology and Diabetology; Lung Medicine; Lungmedicin; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) and lung carcinoids (LCs) are relatively indolent tumors, which originate from neuroendocrine (NE) cells of the diffuse NE system. Metastases can spread before diagnosis. Thus, potential cures become unavailable, which entitles new biomarker development. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Aspects in mammographic screening : Detection, prediction, recurrence and prognosis

    Författare :Mercidyl Gelig Thurfjell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Breast neoplasms; recurrence; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; diagnostisk radiologi; Diagnostic Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Screening mammograms comprising of 32 first round, 10 interval and 32 second round detected cancers and 46 normal were examined by an expert screener, a screening radiologist, a clinical radiologist and a computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD) system. The expert screener, screening radiologist, clinical radiologist and the CAD detected 44, 41, 34 and 37 cancers, respectively, while their respective specificities were 80%, 83%, 100% and 22%. 5. 5. Surveillance and follow-up of early prostate cancer

    Författare :Mats Steinholtz Ahlberg; Anna Bill-Axelson; Lars Holmberg; Anna Lantz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prostate cancer; active surveillance; follow-up; biochemical recurrence; triggers for transition to radical treatment; overdiagnosis; overtreatment.; Urologi; Urology;

    Sammanfattning : Active surveillance (AS) for prostate cancer was introduced to address overtreatment resulting from prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing. Despite advancements such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and targeted biopsies, PSA remains crucial in prostate cancer diagnostics, leading to ongoing challenges of overdiagnosis and overtreatment.
