  1. 11. In Vitro Kinetics of Ribosomal Incorporation of Unnatural Amino Acids

    Författare :Jinfan Wang; Anthony Forster; Jason Chin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ribosome; protein synthesis; unnatural amino acids; kinetics; Biology with specialization in Molecular Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Ribosomal incorporation of unnatural amino acids (AAs) into peptides or proteins has found broad applications in studying translation mechanism, discovering potential therapeutics, and probing protein structure and function. However, such applications are generally limited by the low incorporation efficiencies of the unnatural AAs. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Uptake of and Preference for Nitrate, Ammonium and Amino Acids by Understory Species in Deciduous Forests

    Författare :Magnus Zätterström; Infektionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Soil Science; agricultural hydrology; Lantbrukshydrologi; marklära; Fixation of nitrogen; Kvävefixering; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; wild plants.; understory; rhizosphere; preference; oak forests; NRA; nitrification; nitrate; delta15N; 15N; glutamate; glycine; drying-rewetting; amino acids; ammonium;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe uptake of different nitrogen forms by understory species was studied in field and laboratory. Species of the understory in deciduous forests have previously been thought to take up and assimilate only inorganic nitrogen sources. LÄS MER

  3. 13. The Biological Importance of the Amino Acid Transporter SLC38A10 : Characterization of a Knockout Mouse

    Författare :Frida A. Lindberg; Robert Fredriksson; Erika Roman; Karin Nordenankar; Vootele Vöikar; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solute carrier; SLC; SNAT10; SLC38A10; phenotyping; behavior; amino acids; knockout mouse model; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : The biggest group of transporters, the solute carriers (SLCs), has more than 400 members, and about 30% of these are still orphan. In order to decipher their biological function and possible role in disease, there is a need for characterization of these. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Metabolic impact of certain dietary proteins and/or amino acids - Glycaemic and hormonal responses to carbohydrate meals in healthy subject

    Författare :Ulrika Gunnerud; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Amino acids; dietary protein; glycaemic regulation; insulin; incretins;

    Sammanfattning : Re-occurring hyperglycaemic episodes promote subclinical low-grade inflammation and CVD in type 2 diabetes, emphasising the therapeutic role of tight blood glucose regulation. A tight blood glucose regulation is probably beneficial also in healthy subjects and mild elevations in postprandial glycaemia and triglycerides are associated with impaired flow-mediated dilation and increased markers of oxidative stress in young healthy subjects. 5. 15. Selective transfer hydrogenations : Catalyst development and mechanistic investigations

    Författare :Jenny Wettergren; Hans Adolfsson; Serafino Gladiali; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; asymmetric catalysis; transfer hydrogenation; transition metal; amino acids; amino alcohols; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : By generating a library of amino acid-based ligands, pseudo-dipeptides, and combining them with transition metals, we have created selective and efficient ruthenium and rhodium catalysts for the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones. The ruthenium-catalyzed reaction was studied in detail, and we found that alkali metals play a crucial role for the reactivity and selectivity of the reaction. LÄS MER
