1. Petrology and Geochemistry of the nakhlite meteorites : Tracking complex igneous and aqueous processes on Mars during the Amazonian
Sammanfattning : The overarching science question being addressed by this research project was the geological history of the nakhlite group of Martian meteorites as representative of a young Amazonian Martian crust. This included the magmatic processes and mechanism of emplacement at the origin of the meteorites but also the nature of a young Amazonian Martian aquifer that circulated throughout the nakhlites bedrock from its chemistry, origin and longevity. 2. Morality as Practice : The Santo Daime, an Eco-Religious Movement in the Amazonian Rainforest
Sammanfattning : This study deals with Santo Daime, a religious and environmental movement in the Brazilian Amazon. It is based on 15 months of anthropological fieldwork in the foundational centre of the Santo Daime movement, Céu do Mapiá, Heaven of Mapiá, located deep inside the Brazilian State of Amazonas. 3. Access to health care for children in Amazonian Peru : focus on antibiotic use and resistance
Sammanfattning : Background: Infectious diseases remain a big problem in low and middle income countries (LMIC). Problems of access to adequate health care (including antibiotics) prevail despite the availability of many elaborate interventions. Antibiotic resistance further endangers access to effective infectious illness management. LÄS MER
4. Speciation and fractionation of Ca and the REE in fresh and marine waters
Sammanfattning : This study is concerned with speciation and fractionation of the rare earth elements (REE) and calcium (Ca) in aqueous solutions. The aim is to investigate the chemical states and physical sizes in which these elements can be present. The REE (including neodymium) and Ca have contrasting geochemical behavior in aqueous solutions. LÄS MER
5. Molecular Genetic Studies of the Blood Group ABO Locus in Man
Sammanfattning : The ABO blood group system is undoubtedly the most important genetic and phenotypic marker in clinical transfusion medicine. The A and B determinants are immunodominant, terminally located carbohydrate residues of glycoconjugates on erythrocytes and other cell surfaces. LÄS MER
