1. T Cell Ontogeny and Effector Functions in Galphai2-deficient Colitis
Sammanfattning : Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) comprising Crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis is a disease that affects millions of people worldwide, especially in northern countries such as Sweden, and is characterised by chronic uncontrolled inflammation of the intestinal mucosa. It is the general belief that multiple factors such as genetic and environmental aspects are involved in disease pathogenesis. LÄS MER
2. On laminins and laminin receptors and their roles in regeneration and myelination of the peripheral nerve
Sammanfattning : One important prerequisite for successful axon regeneration is that appropriate extracellular molecules are available for outgrowing axons and that receptors for such molecules are found in the regenerating neuron. Laminin associated integrin subunits alpha3, alpha6, alpha7 and beta1 mRNAs are here shown to be present in rat motoneurons, and in the case of integrin subunits alpha7 and gamma1, also immunohistochemical (IHC) labelling of the proteins was demonstrated. 3. Regulation of Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells by Bone Marrow Niche Components
Sammanfattning : Throughout the lifespan of an individual, enormous numbers of mature blood cells are generated by hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the bone marrow (BM). The HSC is a cell that can self-renew to maintain the HSC pool and differentiate into all types of mature blood cells. LÄS MER
4. Leukocyte-endothelial interactions in arteries in vivo : a new concept in the study of physiology and disease in large blood vessels
Sammanfattning : Pathophysiological events in large blood vessels contribute to immense morbidity and mortality in our society. A major clinical problem is a disease known as atherosclerosis. It involves a slow inflammatory deposition of lipid within the walls of large arteries that with time will weaken the arterial wall. LÄS MER
5. Expression, recognition and usage of laminin-8 (a4b1g1, Lm-411) by monocytes and neutrophils
Sammanfattning : Laminins (LNs) are a family of large alphabetagamma heterotrimeric glycoproteins found in all basement membranes (BMs). They are expressed in a tissue- and developmental stagespecific manner and implicated in vital cellular functions, including cell adhesion, migration and signaling. LÄS MER
