  1. 1. Patient and health care delays in malignant melanoma

    Författare :Senada Hajdarevic; Marcus Schmitt-Egenolf; Carol Tishelman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Care seeking; delay; diagnosis; decision making; gender; malignant melanoma; nursing; organization; pathways; severity; Allvarlighetsgrad; att söka vård; beslutsfattande; diagnos; fördröjning; genus; malignt melanom; omvårdnad; organisation; remissvägar; omvårdnadsforskning med medicinsk inriktning; Caring Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Unlike other cancers, malignant melanoma (MM) is generally visible and can be easily and effectively cured if treated in time. Optimal cure of MM requires early detection, diagnosis, and treatment, which improves prognosis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Preference Effects in the Treatment of Panic Disorder

    Författare :Martin Svensson; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Preference effects; Doubly randomised controlled preference trial; ; Panic disorder; Cognitive behavioural therapy; Psychodynamic therapy;

    Sammanfattning : Patient preferences have drawn considerable attention as a potential moderator of treatment outcome. The Doubly Randomised Controlled Preference Trial (DRCPT) in which patients are randomised to a choice between two or more treatments or random assignment to one of these same treatments is considered one of the most rigorous tests of the effects of patient preferences on outcomes. 3. 3. Development of traffic conflicts technique for different environments: A comparative study of pedestrian conflicts in Sweden and Jordan

    Författare :Lina Shbeeb; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; perception of conflicts.; non-signalised junctions; signalised junctions; accident prediction; accident to conflict conversion factors; TA-speed graphs; conflict speed; time to accidents; conflict sub-grouping; severity index; threshold; relevant road-user; pedestrian conflict; Traffic safety; traffic conflict technique; Technological sciences; Teknik; Social sciences; Samhällsvetenskaper;

    Sammanfattning : This study is aimed at improving the current Swedish Traffic conflicts Technique [TCT] in relation to vehicle-pedestrian conflicts. The present definition of conflict severity appears to produce less severe conflicts than they might be, particularly if the relevant road user (RRU) is the pedestrian. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Ventricular Depolarization in Ischemic Heart Disease.Value of Electrocardiography in Assessment of Severity and Extent of Acute Myocardial Ischemia

    Författare :Michael Ringborn; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute myocardial ischemia; Acute myocardial infarction; Severity of ischemia; QRS changes; HF-QRS; QRS slopes; Depolarization changes; Myocardium at risk; Final infarct size; SPECT.;

    Sammanfattning : Background In patients with symptoms compatible with acute myocardial infarction (MI), early triage by ECG in the pre-hospital phase by ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) criteria is important for direct transport of these patients to a regional center for primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). The time from first medical contact to pPCI should, due to present guidelines, be no longer than two hours. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Colonization Strategies of Nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae - Bacterial Colonization Factors and Vaccine Development

    Författare :Farshid Jalalvand; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ABC-transporter; bacterial colonization; Haemophilus influenzae; Haemophilus Protein F; laminin; NTHi; pathogenesis; vaccine; virulence; vitronectin.;

    Sammanfattning : Nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi) is a remarkably proficient colonizer of the human respiratory tract. The aim of this thesis has been to characterize currently known, and identify novel, bacterial factors involved in the key processes of colonization and pathogenesis, namely adherence to host tissue and evasion of the host innate immunity.
