  1. 1. Alkylglucosides - physical chemical properties

    Författare :Frederik Nilsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; penetration experiment; DSC; SAXS; NMR self-diffusion; phase separation; size micro-structure; aggregate-aggregate interaction; liquid crystalline phases; micelles; alkylglucosides; phase diagrams; fluorescence.; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to characterise the physical-chemical properties of alkylglucosides. Alkylglucosides are non-ionic surfactants synthesized from glucose and a fatty alcohol. The glucose molecule constitutes the hydrophilic head group and the fatty alcohol constitutes the hydrophobic tail. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Green Colloid Chemistry: Characterization of Environmentally Friendly Nonionic Surfactant Systems

    Författare :Christy Whiddon; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nucleophilic substitution; alkylglucosides; bicontinious micelles; self-diffusion NMR; nonionic surfactants; micellar catalysis; Physical chemistry; pKa; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Phase diagrams of mixed alkylglucoside surfactants, n-nonyl-b-D-glucopyranoside and n-decyl-b-D-glucopyranoside (C9G1 and C10G1) have been examined for the purpose of determining the microstructure surrounding a closed-loop miscibiliyt gap. There are large deuterium isotope effects on the phase diagram. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Alkylglycoside Surfactants - Self-Assembly, Solid-State Properties and Interactions with Hydrophobic Molecules

    Författare :Caroline Ericsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; peptide stabilisation; solubilisation; micelle morphology; solid-state behaviour; alkylglycosides; nonionic surfactants;

    Sammanfattning : A thorough physical-chemical characterisation of alkylglycosides has been performed. The effects of temperature, salt, concentration and deuterium exchange on the self-aggregation of n-nonyl-b-D-glucoside (b-C9G1) and n-tetradecyl-b-D-maltoside (b-C14G2) have been studied in dilute solutions by static and dynamic light scattering, neutron scattering, rheology, capillary viscometry and tensiometry.
