1. Shrinkage and Related Properties of Alkali-Activated Binders Based on High MgO Blast Furnace Slag
Sammanfattning : Concrete is the second most used material in the world just after water. A drawback is that it is mostly based on Portland cement, which has an extremely high carbon footprint reaching a staggering 900 kg/tonne. The carbon dioxide emissions related to the production of the Portland cement accounts for nearly 8 % of the global total. LÄS MER
2. Mechanical activation of clay : a novel route to sustainable cementitious binders
Sammanfattning : EU Sustainable Development Strategy planned to achieve improvement of life-quality by promoting sustainable production and consumption of raw materials. On November 2018, EU Commission presented a long-term strategy, aiming among others a climate-neutral economy by 2050. Cement production is contributing to 6-10% of the anthropogenic CO2 emissions. 3. Revalorization of poorly reactive sources by mechanochemical activation : An alternative approach for sustainable cementitious binders
Sammanfattning : The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change made once again clear the urge to take immediate actions to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Among the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Nr. LÄS MER
4. Structuring porous adsorbents and composites for gas separation and odor removal
Sammanfattning : Porous zeolite, carbon and aluminophosphate powders have been colloidally assembled and post-processed in the form of monoliths, flexible free standing films and coatings for gas separation and odor removal. Zeolite 13X monoliths with macroporosites up to 50 vol% and a high CO2 uptake were prepared by colloidal processing and sacrificial templating. LÄS MER
