  1. 1. Organophosphates and phthalates in air and dust from indoor environments : Method development and applied measurements

    Författare :Caroline Bergh; Conny Östman; Peter Haglund; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organophosphate esters; phthalate esters; air; dust; sampling; method development; GC MS; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Organophosphate and phthalate esters are polymer additives that are frequently found in air and dust in indoor environments. This thesis describes the development and application of air sampling and selective mass spectrometric (MS) determination of these two compound groups. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sheltered Society : Civilian Air raid shelters in Sweden — from idea to materiality, 1918-1940 and beyond

    Författare :Peter Bennesved; Finn Arne Jørgensen; Christer Nordlund; Thomas Kaiserfeld; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Air raid shelters; Civil defense; Aerial protection; History of Technology; Multi Level Perspective; Large Technical Systems; Fortifications; Networks; idé- och lärdomshistoria; History Of Sciences and Ideas; History; historia;

    Sammanfattning : In 2002, Sweden finally stopped producing air raid shelters for its population after over sixty years of continuous production since 1938. Judging from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB, the Swedish Air raid shelter registry contain about 65,000 air raid shelters registered as being in use. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sources, emissions, and occurrence of chlorinated paraffins in Stockholm, Sweden

    Författare :Ulrika E. Fridén; Urs Berger; Michael S. McLachlan; Jacob de Boer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chlorinated paraffins; CPs; polychlorinated n-alkanes; PCAs; Air; Dust; Analysis; Exposure; Emissions; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Chlorinated paraffins (CPs) are ubiquitous environmental contaminants. They fulfill all of the criteria (persistent, toxic, and subject to long-range transport) for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) according to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). 4. 4. Occurrence and fate of emerging and legacy flame retardants : from indoor environments to remote areas

    Författare :Seth Newton; Cynthia de Wit; Ulla Sellström; Matthew MacLeod; Roland Kallenborn; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flame retardant; emerging; legacy; polybrominated diphenyl ethers; PBDE; HBCDD; long range transport; dust; air; soil; atmospheric deposition; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are toxic chemicals that can be found in various matrices in all corners of the planet, including remote areas such as the Arctic.  Several POPs are known and monitored but given the abundance of new chemicals in commerce about which little is known, chemicals that may be new POPs are constantly being screened for. 5. 5. What contributes to human body burdens of halogenated flame retardants? : An experimental approach

    Författare :Joo Hui Tay; Cynthia de Wit; Ulla Sellström; Jochen Mueller; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; halogenated flame retardants; air; dust; hand wipes; duplicate diet; serum; human exposure; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Flame retardants (FRs) are chemicals added to a broad range of consumer products such as textiles, electrical and electronic equipment, furniture and building material to meet flammability requirements. Most of these chemicals are additives that can continuously leach out from the applied products during usage. LÄS MER
