  1. 1. Facing failures : interactions between drivers and advanced driver assistance systems

    Författare :Niklas Strand; Håkan Alm; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Adaptive cruise control; Driver assistance system; Driver; Behaviour; Thesis; Adaptiva farthållare; Förarstödssystem; Förare; Beteende; Doktorsavhandling; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 914 Road: ITS och vehicle technology; 914 Road: ITS och vehicle technology; 911 Road: Components of the vehicle; 911 Road: Components of the vehicle;

    Sammanfattning : Drivers’ interactions with advanced driver assistance systems based on experiences from real driving and results from driving in a driving simulator were under investigation in this thesis. Questions posed were: - How do drivers perceive and interact with ADAS? - How are (technical) failures handled by drivers, and which are the consequences’ of these failures? - Which are the implications for diagnosis and detection of failures, as well as for system development? Special attention was given to driver behavior in response to technical failures in an adaptive cruise control system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Driving safe in the future? Driver Needs and Requirements for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

    Författare :Anders Lindgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; User-centred Design; Driver Requirements; Cross-cultural Differences; Interaction Design; Active Safety; ADAS; Driver Assistance; Driver Attitudes;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, active safety has become an increasingly important factor within the automotive industry. Active safety systems, also known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), have the function of actively assisting the driver in avoiding accidents by providing information about current and upcoming traffic situations and helping the driver take proper action before a potential accident occurs. 3. 3. Simulation Based Evaluation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

    Författare :Roya Elyasi-Pour; Jan Lundgren; Johan Olstam; Ingmar Andreásson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Road transportation is an essential element of mobility in most countries and we can observe an increasing demand for both goods and passenger traffic. There are however important societal and economical problems related to road transportation in terms of congestions, traffic safety and environmental effects. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Driving Safe in the Future - HMI for Integrated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

    Författare :Anders Lindgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver Needs and Requirements; Advisory Warnings; Integrated Warnings; Driver Assistance; ADAS; Cross-cultural Differences; Ecological Interface Design;

    Sammanfattning : To be able to drive safely and efficiently, drivers need information from the surrounding traffic environment that make it possible to foresee early events that may negatively affect safety. A driver can in some cases perceive events that potentially have a negative impact on traffic safety, but in other cases not. LÄS MER
