    Sammanfattning : Alkali metal adsorption on metals is studied by High Resolution Core Level Spectroscopy (HRCLS) and Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED). The studies can be divided into two parts: adsorption of alkali multilayers and alkali adsorption in the submonolayer regime. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Coarse-Grained Modelling of Protein Adsorption

    Författare :Kristin Hyltegren; Beräkningskemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; intrinsically disordered proteins; histatin 5; fibrinogen; protein adsorption; nanotopography; ellipsometry; Monte Carlo simulations; Coarse-grained modelling; charge regulation;

    Sammanfattning : The adsorption of proteins is a very common phenomenon, happening almost always when a protein solution comes into contact with a solid. However, it is far from always clear what the results of adsorption will be in terms of adsorbed amount, protein orientation, and protein conformation. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen technologies are rapidly receiving increased attention as it offers a renewable energy alternative to the current petroleum-based fuel infrastructure, considering that continued large-scale use of such fossil fuels will lead to disastrous impacts on our environment. The proton exchange membrane fuel cell should play a significant role in a hydrogen economy since it enables convenient and direct conversion of hydrogen into electricity, thus allowing the use of hydrogen in applications particularly suited for the transportation industry.
