1. On lumbar spine stabilization
Sammanfattning : 71 consecutive posterolateral lumbar fusions without decompression or internal fixation were evaluated with a mean follow-up time of 3.5 (2-7) years. The diagnoses were spondylolysis-olisthesis in 43 cases, degenerative disc disease and/or facet joint arthrosis in 16 cases and pain post laminectomy/ decompression in 12 cases. LÄS MER
2. High-grade spondylolisthesis in young patients : Long-term results of in situ fusion
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this long-term follow-up of 38 of 40 consecutive patients was to evaluate the results of uninstrumented in situ fusion for high-grade isthmic spondylolisthesis three decades after surgery. The mean age at surgery was 14 (range 9-24) years. LÄS MER
3. Biomechanical and Clinical Aspects on Fixation Techniques in the Cervical Spine
Sammanfattning : The present work is analyzing the general biomechanical aspects of fixation techniques in the upper and lower cervical spine along with clinical implications. The in vitro biomechanical properties of five different posterior atlanto-axial fixation techniques are compared. LÄS MER
4. Lumbar fusion for chronic low-back pain in isthmic spondylolisthesis
Sammanfattning : Manifestation of isthmic spondylolisthesis (IS), with a prevalence of 5% in the general population, varies from totally asymptomatic to severe disability. Although fusion has positive short-term effects, the long-term outcome of such treatment, as well as possible accelerated degeneration of adjacent segment discs (ASD) and its clinical significance, are unknown. 5. Implementation of a flexible fiber model in a general purpose CFD code
Sammanfattning : This work is related to the process of making pulp mats for use in hygienicproducts. One part of that process is the transportation of flexiblecellulose fibers suspended in flowing air. The fibers should be evenlydistributed on the substrate, and it is thus of high importance to avoidthe formation of fiber flocks during the transportation. LÄS MER
