  1. 11. Studies of nucleotide receptors-induced calcium response in glomerular mesangial cells and afferent arterioles

    Författare :Antonio M. Gutiérrez; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology and anatomy; mesangial cells; nucleotide receptors; purinoceptors; desensitization; afferent arterioles; ATP; UTP; adenosine; protein phosphatases; calcium; Fysiologi och anatomi; Physiology and pharmacology; Fysiologi och farmakologi; Physiology; fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : It is known that intracellular calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) changes in rat glomerular mesangial cells (GMC) and rabbit afferent arterioles (AA) in response to extracellular nucleotides. We studied the nucleotide-induced calcium response in cultured GMC and AA. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Modulation of neutrophil extracellular trap formation in health and disease

    Författare :Ava Hosseinzadeh; Constantin F. Urban; Carol Munro; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neutrophils; Candida albicans; Adenosine; Tempol; Nicotine; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The critical prompt innate immune response is highly built upon the influx of neutrophils from the blood stream to the site of infection. In the battlefield, neutrophils sense pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) through their pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) to launch a number of responses with the goal to defeat the invading pathogen. 3. 13. Energy-Related Metabolites during and after Induced Myocardial Ischemia and Retroperfusion of the Coronary Sinus : An Experimental Study in the Pig with the Microdialysis Technique and Extracorporeal Circulation

    Författare :Vitas Zemgulis; Rolf Ekroth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Ischemia; myocardial infarction; reperfusion; energy metabolism; coronary sinus retroperfusion; microdialysis; taurine; nucleoside transport; adenosine; aerobic lactate production; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Thoracic and Cardivascular Suregery; kirurgi; särskilt thoraxkirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : In the clinical setting great efforts have been made with contradictory results to operate upon acutely myocardial ischemic patients. The reasons for the absence of unambiguous results are not well understood nor are they scientifically explored. LÄS MER

  4. 14. The mitochondrial adenosine triphosphatase complex : studies on the interaction between its catalytic and H⁺-translocation components

    Författare :Elzbieta Glaser; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present investigation was the characterization of the mitochondrial adenosine triphosphatase complex, with respect to its subunit composition and to the function of the individual components in the interaction between the catalytic and H+-translocating processes catalysed by this enzyme.The enzyme consists of two structurally and morphologically different units: a hydrophilic part Fl, the centre for the catalysis of the hydrolysis and synthesis of ATP, and a membrane part Fo, which constitutes a binding site for Fl and mediates the translocation of protons through the membrane. 5. 15. Regulatory T cells and mucosal-associated invariant T cells in colon adenocarcinomas; Phenotype and function

    Författare :Filip Ahlmanner; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colon cancer; regulatory T cells; CD39; adenosine; immune checkpoint molecules; immunosuppression; MAIT cells; cytokines; cancer-specific survival;

    Sammanfattning : In many solid cancers, and also in colon adenocarcinomas, an increased accumulation of lymphocytes is beneficial for the patient. However, tumor-infiltrating immune cells may be either pro- or anti-tumorigenic and the balance between these two counteracting forces partly determines patient outcome. LÄS MER
