1. Facing failures : interactions between drivers and advanced driver assistance systems
Sammanfattning : Drivers interactions with advanced driver assistance systems based on experiences from real driving and results from driving in a driving simulator were under investigation in this thesis. Questions posed were: - How do drivers perceive and interact with ADAS? - How are (technical) failures handled by drivers, and which are the consequences of these failures? - Which are the implications for diagnosis and detection of failures, as well as for system development? Special attention was given to driver behavior in response to technical failures in an adaptive cruise control system. LÄS MER
2. Adaptive Driver Information
Sammanfattning : New societal requirements and functional growth put new demand on future driver information. Simultaneously, new technology and IT capabilities makes it possible to constantly adapt the information given to the driver for different reasons. LÄS MER
3. A model of attention selection in driving
Sammanfattning : Inattention is one of the most common factors contributing to road crashes. However, the basic mechanisms behind inattention and how it leads to crashes are still relatively poorly understood. LÄS MER
4. Understanding attention selection in driving: From limited capacity to adaptive behaviour
Sammanfattning : Accident analysis studies have consistently identified attention-related failures as key factors behind road crashes. However, less is known about how such failures lead to accidents. LÄS MER
5. Predation as a driver of reproductive isolation - from adaptive divergence to hybrid inviability
Sammanfattning : Natural selection can play an important role in the origin of new species. When reproductive isolation evolves as a result of ecologically-based divergent natural selection, the process is referred to as ecological speciation. In most organisms, sufficient reproductive isolation is considered to be essential for the establishment of new species. LÄS MER
