  1. 11. Mesoporous magnesium carbonate : Synthesis, characterization and biocompatibility

    Författare :Sara Frykstrand Ångström; Maria Strømme; Johan Gómez de la Torre; Natalia Ferraz; Mika Lindén; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mesoporous; magnesium carbonate; pore size control; cytotoxicity; in vivo; skin irritation; acute systemic toxicity; hemocompatibility; Ca2 uptake; solubility enhancement; Engineering Science with specialization in Nanotechnology and Functional Materials; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot nanoteknologi och funktionella material;

    Sammanfattning : Mesoporous materials constitute a promising class of nanomaterials for a number of applications due to their tunable pore structure. The synthesis of most mesoporous materials involves a surfactant liquid crystal structure to form the pores. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Environmental, health, and safety assessment of chemical alternatives during early process design: The role of predictive modeling and streamlined techniques

    Författare :Gulnara Shavalieva; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LCA; EHS; CAMD; acute aquatic toxicity; phase-change solvents; Predictive modeling; carbon capture; knowledge extraction;

    Sammanfattning : Industrial chemicals are important for many aspects of modern life, though they can be harmful to the environment and human health. Environmental or safety concerns identified during the early design and selection of chemicals could motivate choices as to safer alternatives and process setups. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Toxicity pathways in zebrafish cell lines : an ecotoxicological perspective on ”toxicity testing in the 21st century”

    Författare :Sebastian Lungu Mitea; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Standard toxicological in vivo testing has been challenged as the procedures are time-consuming, expensive, and require a large number of animals; given the number of problematic chemicals. Novel toxicological frameworks, such as "toxicity testing in the 21st century", proposed the use of "new approach methods" (in vitro and in silico techniques), that can be applied in high-throughput setups and would allow for the testing of a large number of compounds. 4. 14. Impact of body mass index on outcome, toxicity and pharmacokinetics in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia

    Författare :Christina Egnell Gustafsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Overweight and obesity are growing health problems. Obesity has been associated with both a higher risk of contracting cancer and increased cancer-related mortality in adults. The impact in children with cancer, and more specifically with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), is less explored. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Aspects on optimisation of High Dose Methotrexate treatment in children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

    Författare :Peter Jönsson; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; high dose methotrexate; exposure; dosing algorithms; renal function; cerebrospinal fluid; childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia; population pharmacokinetics; relapse risk;

    Sammanfattning : Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) has a unique place in the history of oncology, as it was the first cancer to be cured by drugs. It is therefore an important model upon which concepts of chemotherapy in other malignancies have been developed. Methotrexate is a major component of most contemporary childhood ALL treatment protocols. LÄS MER
