  1. 6. Tissue kallikrein: pathophysiological role in acute pancreatitis

    Författare :Mats Bläckberg; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acute pancreatitis; aprotinin; alpha-macroglobulin; alpha1-proteinase inhibitor; turn over; kinin B2 receptor; kallidin; bradykinin; Tissue kallikrein; kallistatin; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Tissue kallikrein releases pharmacollogically highly active kinins from kininogen. Many other enzymes may also release kinins. The aim of the study was to clarify the pathophysiological role of tissue kallikrein in acute pancreatitis. Two sensitive and specific radioimmunoassays for porcine and human tissue kallikrein were developed. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Acute pancreatitis - severity classification, complications and outcome

    Författare :Bodil Andersson; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; quality of life; costs; exocrine function; endocrine function; risk factors; acute pancreatitis; mortality; severity classification; artificial neural networks; pancreatic pseudocysts; treatment; complications; outcome; long-term follow-up;

    Sammanfattning : Acute pancreatitis, with an annual incidence of approximately 35 per 100 000 inhabitants in Sweden, is in most cases mild and self-limiting. Severe acute pancreatitis, affecting 10-15% of the cases is, however, associated with severe complications and even death. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Acute pancreatitis, from local defense to remote organ injury

    Författare :Hamid Akbarshahi; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute pancreatitis; heparan sulfate; damage associated molecular patterns; toll-like receptor4; MyD88; IRF-3; acute lung injury; macrophages; transforming growth factor-beta; Smad;

    Sammanfattning : Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory disease of the pancreas. Acute abdominal pain is the most common symptom. Pancreatic injury is mild in 80% of patients, who recover without complications. The remaining patients have a severe disease with local and systemic complications such as acute lung injury (ALI). 4. 9. Isoprenylation and NET formation in acute pancreatitis

    Författare :Mohammed Merza; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute pancreatitis; neutrophil recruitment; trypsinogen activation; NET;

    Sammanfattning : Acute Pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammation disease that characterized by activation of protease and the innate immune system, leading to infiltration of neutrophils and tissue damage in the pancreas. The aim of this thesis was to determine the role of isoprenylation (farnesyltransferase and geranylgeranyltransferase) as well as NET formation in regulating recruitment of neutrophils and tissue damage in severe AP. 5. 10. Trypsinogen and neutrophil activation in acute Pancreatitis

    Författare :Hannes Hartman Magnusson; Kirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute pancreatitis; trypsinogen activation; adhesion; neutrophil extracellular traps;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aims: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common condition characterized by premature protease activation, abdominal pain and leakage of pancreatic enzymes to the circulation. Approximately 10% develop systemic inflammation and persistent organ failure. LÄS MER
