  1. 21. Internalization mechanisms of cell-penetrating peptides : Structure-activity relationships, cellular distribution and membrane toxicity studies

    Författare :Mats Hansen; Ülo Langel; Mark Lindsay; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell-penetrating peptides; mechanisms; toxicity; structure-activity relationship; Neurochemistry; Neurokemi; Neurochemistry and Molecular Neurobiology; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Transport of substances with pharmaceutical potential over the plasma membrane has been pushed a great step forward with the discovery of short cationic polypeptides, known as cell-penetrating peptides (CPP). Since then, the internalization mechanism and cargo delivery properties of CPPs has been extensively studied. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Valvular aortic stenosis in children. Outcome, physical activity and health-related quality of life

    Författare :Cecilia Kjellberg Olofsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Valvular aortic stenosis; Critical aortic stenosis; Child; Neonate; Outcome; Surgical valvotomy; Physical activity; Health-related quality of life; Life satisfaction;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Isolated valvular aortic stenosis (VAS) accounts for 3–5% of congenital heart disease and presents with a wide spectrum of severity. Critical VAS in the neonate is the most severe form, fatal in the absence of treatment. Physical activity is essential for normal development and is a prerequisite for long-term cardiovascular health. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Daily Physical Activity, Body Fat and Aerobic Fitness in Children

    Författare :Magnus Dencker; Malmö Klinisk fysiologi och nuklearmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Physiology; Fysiologi; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Aerobic fitness; Body fat; Children; Daily physical activity;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Physical inactivity, low aerobic fitness and obesity are all associated with an increased risk of a wide range of diseases in adults. Promotion of physical activity, improvement of aerobic fitness and regulation of body weight in children may be of importance, as low physical activity, low aerobic fitness and obesity early in life have been known to track into adulthood. 4. 24. Kallikrein-related peptidases in human epidermis : studies on activity, regulation, and function

    Författare :Kristina Stefansson; Torbjörn Egelrud; Maria Brattsand; Mona Ståhle; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; desquamation; epidermis; stratum corneum; kallikrein-related peptidase; KLK; serine protease inhibitors; Dermatology and venerology; Dermatologi och venerologi;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction. The outermost layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum (SC), plays a fundamental role in our defense against microorganisms, chemicals, and dehydration. The SC is composed of tightly packed keratinized skin cells, corneocytes. For a functioning skin it is essential that corneocytes are constantly shed (desquamated). LÄS MER

  5. 25. Roles of SNAP-25 isoforms in activity-dependent long-term synaptic plasticity

    Författare :Muhammad Irfan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : SNARE proteins, SNAP-25, syntaxin 1A and VAMP2 constitute the functional units which join together to form the core SNARE complex. The SNARE complex carries out the vital function of membrane fusion of intracellular vesicles with plasma membranes, leading to the release of neurotransmitters in brain neuronal circuits and of hormones in endocrine glands.
