  1. 1. Size Matters : Ostensive and performative dimensions of organizational size

    Författare :Anette Hallin; Mats Engwall; Martha Feldman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; organizational size; action net; action; ostensive; performative; borders; actions of narrativization; actions of realizations; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Organizational size is a common way to describe and understand organizations invarious settings: in every-day situations as well as in organizational research. Withinorganization theory, organizational size has been seen variously as a basic feature ofthe organization (an independent variable); as a result of a reaction to the environmentof the organization (a dependent variable); or as a basic criterion for the selectionand categorizing of empirical cases (a selective variable). 2. 2. Fler bråk i matematikundervisningen : En aktionsforskningsstudie där lärare lär om progression

    Författare :Caroline Nagy; Pia Williams; Angelika Kullberg; Ann-Christine Wennergren; Astrid Pettersson; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; action research; analytical tools; communities of practice; fraction; negotiations; professional learning; progression; school stages;

    Sammanfattning : Few studies have a focus on progression in teaching and learning mathematics. An assumption for this study was that progression in teaching between school stages was important. The approach of the study was based on action research. Four teachers from preschool to 9th grade (age 1-16) were invited to a temporary team, a community of practice. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Estrogen : molecular mechanisms of antidiabetic action

    Författare :Saad Misfer Al-Qahtani; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome is multifactorial and hormones play an essential role in its development. Estrogen loss in postmenopausal women has been linked to several features of metabolic syndrome, while estrogen replacement therapy reverses these pathological and metabolic features. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Antimicrobial peptides in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory conditions : Preclinical studies of mechanism of action, efficacy, and safety

    Författare :Camilla Björn; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; antimicrobial peptides; AMPs; innate immunity; infection; inflammation; mechanism of action; efficacy; safety; antimicrobial resistance; antibiotic resistance; Antimicrobial peptides; AMPs; innate immunity; infection; inflammation; mechanism of action; efficacy; safety; antimicrobial resistance; antibiotic resistance;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid emergence of antibiotic-resistant microbes worldwide and the urgent need of new antimicrobial agents have stimulated interest in antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) as new therapeutics for treatment of infectious diseases. AMPs are present in all living species and constitute an important part of the innate immune system in multicellular organisms, including humans. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular mechanisms of estrogen and antiestrogen action

    Författare :Tomas Barkhem; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Estrogen receptor; SHBG; tamoxifen; raloxifene; pS2; p1 60 coactivator; SRC-1; TIF-2;

    Sammanfattning : Estrogen is a key regulatory hormone that affects numerous physiological processes. The estrogen receptors (ER), ER alpha and ER beta, play a central role in mediating the effects of both estrogens and antiestrogens. Estrogen signaling has proven to be multifaceted and the precise mechanism of action remains in many cases elusive. LÄS MER
