  1. 1. Sound Field Design for Transducer Array-Based Acoustic Levitation

    Författare :Carl Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nonlinear Acoustics; Sound Field Design; Transducer Arrays; Acoustic Levitation; Numerical Optimization;

    Sammanfattning : Acoustic levitation is a technique where sound waves are used to hold an object at a designated position, suspending it against other external forces and keeping it stable in the desired position. Transducer arrays are an arrangement of many loudspeaker elements, tuned such that the array creates a sound field that is too complicated for the individual elements to produce on their own. 2. 2. Single layer near-field acoustic imaging in space-invariant reflective environments

    Författare :Elias Zea; Ines Lopez Arteaga; Efren Fernandez-Grande; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; near-field acoustic holography; field separation techniques; single layer; space-invariance; reflective envirionments; närfält akustisk holografi; fältseparationstekniker; enkelt lager; utrymmes invarians; reflekterande miljöer; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The visualization of optical fields, or widely known as photography, is a common practice that can also be applied to acoustic fields. No less than three decades of research in acoustic imaging demonstrate its potential and relevance in plenty applications such as sound source identification and localization, as well as characterization of noise generation mechanisms. 3. 3. EVALUATION OF ACOUSTIC COMFORT IN APARTMENT BUILDINGS

    Författare :Nikolas Vardaxis; Teknisk akustik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; acoustic comfort; field measurements; noise annoyance; subjective responses;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns assessment of acoustic comfort in apartment buildings. A new approach is followed, beyond noise annoyance investigation, which was the typical path so far. The latter involved acoustic descriptors, which characterize the structural components, being associated to self-reported noise annoyance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Acoustic Forces in Cytometry and Biomedical Applications: Multidimensional Acoustophoresis

    Författare :Carl Grenvall; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acoustophoresis; Microfluidics; Ultrasound; Multinode; Cell Sorting; Particle Positioning; Cytometry; Lab-on-a-Chip; µTAS; Binary Separation; Acoustic Barriers; Acoustic Particle Manipulation; Acoustic Standing Waves; Blood Separation; Milk Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decades the ongoing work in the fields of Lab-on-a-Chip and Micro-Total-Analysis-Systems has led to the discovery of new or improved ways to handle and analyse small volumes of biofluids and complex biosuspensions. The benefits of working on the microscale include: miniaturization of the analysis systems with less need for large sample volumes; temporal and spatial control of suspended particle/cell positions; low volume sheath flow lamination or mixing; novel separation techniques by using forces inherent to the microscale domain; precise regulation of sample temperatures and rapid analysis with less volumes needed to be processed. 5. 5. Room Acoustic Ray-Tracing : Understanding, evaluating and expanding the toolset

    Författare :Hanna Autio; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Room acoustics; acoustic ray tracing; Room acoustic simulation; virtual reality; acoustic scattering;

    Sammanfattning : Room acoustic simulations are an important tool, both for design of spaces with satisfactory acoustics and for use in virtual reality experiences. Auralization of acoustic simulations are becoming more and more important in the context of Virtual and Augmented reality (VR and AR respectively), as the technology is used more and more in healthcare, culture and research.
