  1. 16. On functions, abilities and quality of life after subarachnoid haemorrhage : occupational therapy aspects

    Författare :Margareta Lindberg; Axel Fugl-Meyer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Subarachnoid heamorrhage; impairment; disability; activities of daily living; work; leisure; depression; quality of life; rehabilitation; occupational therapy;

    Sammanfattning : This investigation addresses functions/impairments, abilities/disabilities and quality of life (QoL) in a consecutive series of non-hospitalised long-term survivors (2,5-12 years) of subarachnoid heamorrhage (SAH). The investigated parameters of functions/impairments were: motor, language, perceptual and memory functions. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Studiesituationen för elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor

    Författare :Eva Pettersson; Inger Wistedt; Håkan Sollervall; Häggblom Lisen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gifted students; mathematics; mathematical abilities; talent development; social norms; socio-mathematical norms; teacher competence; case studies.; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematical Education; Matematikdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : The study aims to describe variation in the expression of students’ mathematical ability and the various ways in which their mathematical aptitude is acknowledged and supported by their teachers, parents and peers in a Swedish context. Ability is defined as a complex of various abilities each of which may be more or less pronounced in a given individual. LÄS MER

  3. 18. A Study on Desulfurization of Hot Metal Using Different Agents

    Författare :David Lindström; Du Sichen; Nortier Patrice; Shin-ya Kitamura; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :desulfurization; hot metal; CaO; Mg; CaC2; ZnO; reaction mechanism; desulfurization abilities; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with desulfurization of hot metal using different agents. The aim of this study was to improve the understanding of commonly used desulfurization agents such as fluidized CaO, CaC2, commercial-CaO, Mg, and mixtures of commercial-CaO-Mg. The possibility to use ZnO for desulfurization of hot metal was also investigated. LÄS MER

  4. 19. The aging brain and changes in cognitive performance : Findings from morphometry and quantitative susceptibility mapping of iron

    Författare :Ninni Persson; Håkan Fischser; Kristine B. Walhovd; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; brain aging; volumes; ndividual differences; QSM; cognitive aging; iron; episodic memory; fluid-; crystalized abilities; sex differences; gender differences; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Brain aging is a heterogeneous phenomenon, and this thesis illustrates how the course of aging can vary within individuals over time and between individuals as a function of age, sex, and genetic variability. We used two contrasts from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), namely spin-lattice T1-weighted imaging, and quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) from gradient-echo images, to picture the aging brain, by means of morphometric measures and brain-iron concentrations. 5. 20. Being creative and resourceful : Individuals’ abilities and possibilities for self-management of chronic illness

    Författare :Åsa Audulv; Kenneth Asplund; Karl-Gustaf Norbergh; Karin Axelsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Self-management; self-care; chronic illness; chronic disease; qualitative research; life conditions; beliefs and values; self-management integration; longitudinal; Egenvård; sjukdomshantering; kronisk sjukdom; kvalitativ forskning; livsvillkor; värderingar; egenvårds integrering; hantering; anpassning; Nursing; Omvårdnad;

    Sammanfattning : Individuals’ self-management styles are crucial for how they manage to live with illness. Commonly investigated factors include social support, self-efficacy, health beliefs, and demographics. There is a gap in the literature with regard to in-depth studies of how those factors actually influence an individual’s self-management. LÄS MER
