6. A Value Co-Creation Perspective on Customer-Based Brand Equity Modelling for Tourism Destinations : A case from Sweden
Sammanfattning : Tourism destinations all over the world increasingly embrace marketing and branding practices traditionally utilized by businesses. However, the literature on customer-based brand equity modelling and measurement for tourism destinations lacks the conceptual understanding of the complex relationships between tourists and the destination brand. 7. Multiscale Methods and Uncertainty Quantification
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we consider two great challenges in computer simulations of partial differential equations: multiscale data, varying over multiple scales in space and time, and data uncertainty, due to lack of or inexact measurements. We develop a multiscale method based on a coarse scale correction, using localized fine scale computations. 8. Automation of Computational Mathematical Modeling
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the Automation of Computational Mathematical Modeling (CMM), involving the key steps of automation of (i) discretization, (ii) discrete solution, (iii) error control, (iv) modeling, and (v) optimization. The automation of (i)--(ii) is realized through multi-adaptive Galerkin methods on general discretizations of space-time with time steps variable in space. LÄS MER
9. Mathematical analysis and approximation of a multiscale elliptic-parabolic system
Sammanfattning : We study a two-scale coupled system consisting of a macroscopic elliptic equation and a microscopic parabolic equation. This system models the interplay between a gas and liquid close to equilibrium within a porous medium with distributed microstructures. We use formal homogenization arguments to derive the target system. LÄS MER
10. A generalized finite element method for linear thermoelasticity
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we develop a generalized finite element method for linear thermoelasticity problems, modeling displacement and temperature in an elastic body. We focus on strongly heterogeneous materials, like composites. LÄS MER
