16. Evaluation of a Laser Doppler System for Myocardial Perfusion Monitoring
Sammanfattning : Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery is a common treatment for patients with coronary artery disease. A potential complication of CABG is myocardial ischemia or infarction. In this thesis, a method - based on laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) - for detection of intra- and postoperative ischemia by myocardial perfusion monitoring is evaluated. LÄS MER
17. FET fusion oncoproteins in sarcoma tumorigenesis - lnteractions with the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex and epigenetic effects
Sammanfattning : The FET family of fusion oncoproteins containing the N-terminal of either FUS, EWSR1 or TAF15 together with a transcription factor partner is the characteristic oncogenic driver of more than 20 types of sarcoma and leukemia, including myxoid liposarcoma and Ewing sarcoma. The FET oncoproteins are thought to function as aberrant transcription factors, however, the exact oncogenic mechanism remains to be elucidated. LÄS MER
18. Helicobacter pylori binding to gastric mucins and host glycosylation changes after inoculation
Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori may cause gastritis, gastric/duodenal ulcer and gastric cancer. During infection, most H. pylori are found in the gastric mucus layer, but some are attached to, or have penetrated, epithelial cells. The aim of this study is to characterize the binding of H. 19. Synchronization Techniques in Parallel Discrete Event Simulation
Sammanfattning : Discrete event simulation is an important tool for evaluating system models in many fields of science and engineering. To improve the performance of large-scale discrete event simulations, several techniques to parallelize discrete event simulation have been developed. LÄS MER
20. Perspectives of anxiety in stressful environments : Prospective studies in real-life settings
Sammanfattning : The present thesis deals with perspectives of anxiety experienced in stressful environments. As such two major issues are addressed. The first issue is whether increased trait anxiety during work in a high-stress environment is related to impaired performance on executive control tasks. LÄS MER
