21. Influential factors in simulations of future urban stormwater quality : Climate change, progressing urbanization and environmental policies
Sammanfattning : Climate change is regarded as one of the main future challenges implyingchanging hydrological conditions in urban areas. At the same time many urbanareas are expected to grow due to increasing population, which will most likelycause a higher level of urbanization. LÄS MER
23. Structuring empirical knowledge on environmental issues : urban heavy metal metabolism
Sammanfattning : During the last century, there has been a large import of heavy metals to urban areas. Only a small fraction, about 10%, has reached the biosphere, the rest is still residing in various goods such as cables, construction materials, technical equipment and batteries, which are still in use or abandoned in infrastructure, buildings, households, enterprises and vehicles. 24. Thermal Properties of Clusters and Molecules - Experiments on Evaporation, Thermionic Emission, and Radiative Cooling
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents experiments performed on clusters and molecules, where the three channels of unimolecular decay have been studied. Evaporation from protonated and negatively charged water cluster have yielded size dependent heat capacities, where the smallest sizes with fewer than $21$ molecules show a heat capacity similar to bulk ice whereas clusters with molecules between $21$ and $300$ have a heat capacity in between that of ice and liquid water. 25. Responses to reduced industrial metal emissions : An ecotoxicological study on Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca, Aves)
Sammanfattning : Metals have been used by humans for thousands of years, and this has resulted in increased concentrations in the biosphere. The environment around point-sources, such as mines and smelters, are of particular concern, as metals may accumulate to high concentrations, and potentially reach levels toxic to the local flora and fauna.
