6. Hydrothermally induced changes of lean NOx reduction over Cu-ZSM-5 and stability improvements by synthesis modification
Sammanfattning : The growing concern about the global warming coupled with the increasing emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, combined with the climbing oil price, drives the interest to more fuel efficient lean combustion engines for automotive applications. Such engines require new technical solutions for reduction of NOx in the oxygen rich exhaust gases, where a conventional three-way catalyst cannot be used. LÄS MER
7. Synthesis, characterization and applications of hierarchical porous inorganic materials: a multi-dimensional approach
Sammanfattning : Zeolites are a type of microporous crystalline materials that have been widely used in industrial applications including separation, adsorption, and catalysis. However, great limitations on diffusion through these materials can arise due to the small pores present in mircoporous frameworks, and this can impact catalytic reactions in particular. LÄS MER
8. Synthesis of zeolites from economic raw materials
Sammanfattning : Synthesis methods using economic raw materials, such as kaolin and diatomite have been developed for the production of zeolites in the present work. Zeolite Y and ZSM-5 have been synthetized successfully from diatomite and kaolin, respectively. LÄS MER
9. Lean NOx reduction over supported silver catalysts with methanol as reductant - Influence of silver loading, support material, hydrogen addition and C/N molar ratio
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to find catalysts which show high activity and selectivity forlean NOx reduction in the low-temperature regime relevant for diesel and lean-burnengines and to investigate methanol as reducing agent. The lean NOx reduction oversupported silver catalysts is studied, focusing on the influence of the support material, silver loading, addition of hydrogen and the C/N molar ratio. LÄS MER
10. Studies of hydrocarbon-assisted selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides - DME as reductant and reaction mechanism over silver/alumina
Sammanfattning : Increasing amounts of carbon dioxide are attaining worldwide growing attention as one probable cause for global warming. Together with the expected peak in oil production and an increasing oil demand, this results in a greater interest in more fuel effective lean burn engines (i.e. operation with excess oxygen). LÄS MER
