1. Metacognitive Aspects of Learning : What Influences Magnitude and Accuracy of Ease-of-Learning Judgments?
Sammanfattning : To learn efficiently, many situations require people to judge what will be easy or difficult to learn, or how well it has been stored in memory. These metacognitive judgments are important to understand because they most likely guide how people behave when they learn, and consequently how much they learn. LÄS MER

3. Word Sense Embedded in Geometric Spaces - From Induction to Applications using Machine Learning
Sammanfattning : Words are not detached individuals but part of a beautiful interconnected web of related concepts, and to capture the full complexity of this web they need to be represented in a way that encapsulates all the semantic and syntactic facets of the language. Further, to enable computational processing they need to be expressed in a consistent manner so that similar properties are encoded in a similar way. LÄS MER

5. Word Learning in the Developing Brain : ERP Dynamics of Learning Word-Object Associations
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigated electrophysiological measures of individual differences in toddlers’ ability to learn novel object labels and process familiar object words and their referents. The studies measured both visual and auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) in response to pictures of objects and words in a longitudinal sample of 20- to 24-month-olds, an age of dynamic vocabulary development.
