  1. 1. Window of opportunity : Dutch and Swedish security ideas and strategies 1942–1948

    Författare :Susanna Erlandsson; Jan Lindegren; Karl Molin; Duco Hellema; Thomas Jonter; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; small states; security; margin for manoeuvre; window of opportunity; neutrality; non-alignment; alliance; collective security; regional cooperation; 20th century history; international relations; World War II; Cold War; Sweden; the Netherlands; Historia; History;

    Sammanfattning : The period treated in this thesis is one which is often characterized as a transition between World War II and the Cold War. By approaching it instead as a window of opportunity – a period in which the governments of small states perceived both an unusual space and an urgent need to reevaluate security – the security policies of two small northwestern European countries, the Netherlands and Sweden, are subjected to a critical reappraisal. 2. 2. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design

    Författare :Niels Möller; Karl Henrik Johansson; Rayadurgam Srikant; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Internet; Congestion control; Window-based; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Heat Flow in Building Components, Experiment and Analysis

    Författare :Petter Wallentén; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; radiation exchange; longwave; shortwave; transient; frequency analysis; finite difference; measurements; wall; window; heat transfer coefficient; convective; full scale; natural climate; in situ; counter flow insulation; heat transfer; dynamic insulation; temperature; building; solar radiation; window model; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Three building components exposed to natural climate were studied: a dynamic insulation in the ceiling of a house, an outer wall and one window in the same wall. The term dynamic insulation implies that part of the inlet or exhaust air passes through the insulation of a house. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Energy Efficient Window Systems. Effects on Energy Use and Daylight in Buildings

    Författare :Helena Bülow-Hübe; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; simulation; thermal transmittance; solar energy transmittance; shading device; solar protection; cooling; heating; energy demand; building; low-emittance coating; window; glazing; comfort; user aspects; operative temperature; Architecture; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik; daylight; perception; interior design; Arkitektur; inredningsarkitektur; Energy research; Energiforskning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with energy-efficient windows in Swedish buildings. Parametric studies were performed in the dynamic energy simulation tool Derob-LTH in order to study the effects of window choices on energy use and indoor climate for both residential and office buildings. 5. 5. Preconception Health and Care : A Window of Opportunity

    Författare :Jenny Stern; Tanja Tydén; Margareta Larsson; Per Kristiansson; Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Women’s health and lifestyle before pregnancy can influence both the fertility and the health of mother and child. The overall aim of this thesis was to explore current preconception health and care and evaluate a new tool for preconception care. LÄS MER
