  1. 6. Human response to wind turbine noise : perception, annoyance and moderating factors

    Författare :Eja Pedersen; Sten Ljunggren; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Noise; Environmental exposure; Wind; Audio-visual interaction; Low-level noise exposure; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; wind turbines; noise annoyance; sound perception; audio-visual interaction; low-level noise exposure;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The aims of this thesis were to describe and gain an understanding of how people who live in the vicinity of wind turbines are affected by wind turbine noise, and how individual, situational and visual factors, as well as sound properties, moderate the response.Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in a flat, mainly rural area in Sweden, with the objective to estimate the prevalence of noise annoyance and to examine the dose-response relationship between A-weighted sound pressure levels (SPLs) and perception of and annoyance with wind turbine noise. 2. 7. Wind turbine wakes : controland vortex shedding

    Författare :Davide Medici; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind Energy; Power Optimisation; Active Control; Yaw; Vortex; Mechanical energy engineering; Mekanisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Wind tunnel studies of the wake behind a model wind turbine have been made in order to get a better understanding of wake development as well as the possibility to predict the power output from downstream turbines working in the wake of an upstream one. Both two-component hot-wire anemometry as well as particle image velocimetry (PIV) have been used to map the flow field. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Where the Wind Blows : the socio-political geography of wind power development in Finland, Norway and Sweden

    Författare :Johanna Liljenfeldt; Örjan Pettersson; Kerstin Westin; Olof Stjernström; Peter Schmitt; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analysis the planning process for large-scale wind power development in Finland, Norway and Sweden. The aim is to explore the emerging power relations and socio-economic dynamics of the negotiation, planning and realization of this new development. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Wind power wake modelling : Development and application of an actuator disc method for industrial utilization

    Författare :Nikolaos Simisiroglou; Stefan Ivanell; Thorsten Lutz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wind power; Offshore wind farm; Wakes; Actuator Disc Method ACD ; Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD ; Reynolds Average Navier–Stokes RANS ; WindSim; PHOENICS;

    Sammanfattning : As a wind turbine extracts energy from the wind it creates a region downstream where the wind velocity is decreased and the urbulence intensity is increased, this region is commonly called the wake region. Today’s wind farms include a large number of wind turbines position in tight layouts. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Characterization and forecasting of wind conditions over the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Christoffer Hallgren; Erik Sahlée; Julie Lundquist; Uppsala universitet; []
