Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to critically examine the educational area of folk and world music within higher education in Sweden, with a focus on questions of knowledge, power, and governance. The study is ethnographic and the data were produced in the 2016–2017 period through observations of lessons, concerts, and examinations in three educational environ- ments, and through interviews with teachers and students. 7. Encounters Between Music and Nature : A Productive and Transversal Approach to Contemporary Music Analysis
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines encounters between music and nature through a productive and transversal approach to music analysis with examples from the contemporary Western art music repertoire. In three analytical chapters, I study how contemporary music potentially reframes the positions and relations between music, humans and nature by engaging with transversal concepts from Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s thinking and drawing upon Judy Lochhead’s approach to productive music analysis. 8. Understanding didactic strategies based on the Laban-Malmgren technique when developing the technical and musical proficiency of singers
Sammanfattning : In this thesis multiple methods were used to explore how the use of didactic strategies based on the LMT may enable a voice pedagogue to develop the technical and musical proficiency of singers who specialise in Western art music. Data for this qualitative study were collected by working with fourteen singers in South Africa and Sweden during workshops, masterclasses and individual lessons. LÄS MER
