    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to analyze the establishment and development of lectureships in the Swedish language in German universities during the first half of the 20th century. Building on earlier research about the role of language teaching abroad for public diplomacy, the study sees the lecturer as a part of both the the academic and political fields in Germany and Sweden.     Sammanfattning : Psykets laboratorium – skildringar av drogexperiment i Weimarrepubliken investigates texts produced during psychiatric self-experiments with psychedelic drugs in the Weimar Republic in the 1920s, featuring the philosopher Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) as a research subject. In these self-experiments, physicians and volunteer subjects wrote down their experiences of psychotic states that were evoked through the use of psychedelic drugs.     Sammanfattning : The two last novels by Richard Hughes (1900-1976), the first in his planned The Human Predicament series, are partly set in Germany in the years between the First and the Second World War. Much of the action in The Fox in the Attic (1961) takes part in and around Munich, culminating in a fictional reconstruction of the so-called Hitler Putsch on November 8-9, 1923, the future dictator's aborted early bid for power. He qualified this statement by describing the connection between theology and state theory as being both historical – signifying a process of transition and transmission – and structural-systematic – signifying a structural likeness.
